Okay,,,
This is probably geared towards the newer players.... Something I caught myself doing a lot, and am still trying to break the habit. Once you've scored a crippling hit on an enemy you get "tunnel vision" and keep blasting away at him until you hear "Enemy destroyed". It's a lovely sound,,,its what we all want to hear. Killing the enemy tanks is we enjoy the most, and an important key to victory. But it's a means to the end, its not the objective. Winning is.
Scenario: You are sitting behind a bush ( under concealment but not cover) in Malinovka in your BT2 (told you this is geared towards low tiers) ... an enemy T1 starts suiciding across the field zig- zagging. You zoom in sniper mode and score a direct hit knocking off 25%,,, your blood get up and your fire again,,, a miss,,, he gets a bit closer you score another hit ,,, tracking him.
This is where the story can take two different paths.
Path 1. You stay in the zone,,, pounding away at the T-1,,, you score 2 more hits knocking him down to 5%... then a miss,,, then a last shot finishes him off,, You have got your Kill!, One second later you hear "Bail out! this vehicles has it!" You are dead... You just traded your teir 2 for a teir 1.
Analysis. While you were intitially camoflagued you did not have hard cover. You fired 7 shots without moving, by the 3rd shot ( at the latest) you were spotted and fired on,, by shot 5 you have probably been hit 2 or more times,,, by shot 7 over half the enemy team can hit you,,, you are dead meat.
Path 2. You track him on the third shot, move back behind cover, an ally destroys him, You keep on doing the same thing,,, by the end of the game you will probaby have scored 2 kills and damaged 4 of the enemy and your team will win.
Simple rules.
Never fire more than 3 shots before moving
Move as soon as you are hit.
Dont sit and blast away at a heavily armored enemy thats at the end of your effective range or an enemy that is only showing 10 inches of its turret over the top of hard cover (this goes double,, no TRIPLE if you are using an auto cannon). You have probably less than a 1 in 4 chances of hitting it, and an ice cubes chance in hell of damaging a heavy at 300plus yards with an auto cannon. The same goes for a fast moving target at max range.

I enjoy doing this to KV-1's with the PZ-IV at range. Works well.
But I definitly do get tunnel vision and that's a habit I am working to break. Definitly learning to move more now.
There is always someone who can see you and you can't see them.

Shoot-n-Scoot, baby, Shoot-n-Scoot!
More people need to heed this advice, I agree.
