LAST UPDATE :(5/3/2013)
I will now use adf.ly links to support Novari! (even though he got a job) (I SWEAR HE FORCED ME INTO IT D8 Don't hurt me! Also you can remove the adf.ly portion of the link if you really-really don't wanna wait 5 seconds before clicking skip)

The Gnome:
Follow gnome now on twitter: @MagnusAndFerdie
Or on Facebook: http://www.facebook....46575829?ref=hl

New stuff:
-Reworked memory management.
-Added 5.1 surround support.
-Made all engines sound's volume respond to the slider bar.
-Added new sound for V-2SN and the 2x V-2K engines for the KV-4.
-Added sound for the missing 2x HL66 for the VK20.01(D)

LAST VERSION: 0.43
Gnomefather has thrown his hat into the ring for engine sounds once more! This time using sounds different than those from Forgotten Hope 2. Right now they're still in the beta stage as of the current update, and he's looking for any comments or critiques which can be sent to his username :gnomefather:

Enough of this talking, though. Allow me to get to the mod itself. FIRST the previews:

INSTALL NOTICE:

To ensure proper installation, be sure to copy the entire audio folder from the res folder to res_mods/x.x/! Due to a bug, you will not hear any other sounds if you DO NOT do this! Extract the res and res_mods folder from the archive into the world of tanks main folder, and allow overwriting once you are done with the previous step.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are using WinZip or certain zip applications, the res and res_mods folders might not show up in the archive. For best results, use WinRar or, my preference, 7Zip (Completely free) to view the archive. Alternatively you might be able to extract the contents to a folder (full extract, not drag and drop) and it may extract the folders.

Side note: If you have issues with certain tanks having odd volumes (such as the M10, etc) set your vehicle volumes to 75 or above.

New update coming already! Just give me a chance to post it.
New previews and downloads are now up.

Personally, to throw my own notes for improvement into the ring so gnome sees them...I have to say my favorite right now is the continental combined with tiger sounds. The panther is still a bit on the loud side, and some of the noises it makes need to be balanced together (for example, the rev down being very long and loud compared to the moving fast sound). The Tiger could be just a little louder, but its definitely almost there.

Is it just the Radial and the Tiger sounds across all tanks right now?

Depends on which you choose. I made a suggestion to gnome about light tanks (thinking about using a hetzer's engine, seeing as it did use a pz38t chasis). Right now, though, we have two choices...one has the tiger and radial together. The radial will be used for most medium tanks and heavies (That's just how the game works. It only inherently uses a few sounds for all its engines). The Tiger will be used for most heavier germans, and some other heavies such as the french. The other option just replaces the tiger sound with the panther sound. (Note, the panther sound is still quite loud :P)

But you won't be seeing many more than 3, MAYBE 4 sounds. I'm not sure exactly how many files the game has, but it only uses 3 or 4 different sounds for engines. Each individual engine filters the sound so it comes out slightly differently, however. Thats why you think the game uses many more sounds :P

ATM, though, there are no light tank sounds. So you'll only hear the treads.

Will have an update later :V Introducing LIGHT TANK NOISES. Well most of them. MS-1 and Leich still lack sounds, but we have a good majority. Hetzer engine was chosen given its a highly modified LT-38/Pz38(t). And it sounds awesome ;3

If i were you I'd get gnome to make these 7.4 compatible as a headstart. 7.4 made 7.3 and everything down for sounds completely incompatible.

I see why they "Broke". They separated the sound files into individual pieces. So you have an individual sound bank for the light tank engines. Shouldn't be THAT hard to adapt it...I hope.

EDIT: Also they still work :P It might be cleaner to rework the mod, but I test it and the sounds still worked. The only difference is the fev files call multiple fsb files now. You can keep it the same, or adapt to this.

They still work. The only thing that changed is that the fev files call to multiple fsb files now. However, if you have a single fsb file and a properly made fev file it'll still work. HOWEVER...I will agree we may want to change to 7.4s setup just because it is cleaner than using a single sound bank. However, the sound mod still worked for me.

EDIT: ALL my old sound files worked for me. Don't know where you figured that 7.4 made them break.

Stranger yet the FH2 gunsounds are one of the sound mods that worked for me during my test :P Make sure you copy the NEW audio folder over to the new res_mods folder entirely, put the mods inside there and overwrite, then delete the unused fsb files from the folder.

Stay tuned as we have another update coming up that should ensure no sounds are missing :P Then its just the fine tuning. Just gotta wait for gnome to get back to me on my reply to him. And make sure to post feedback on what you like/don't like!
