I'm hoping to swing by Waiouru on the 19th, but I suspect it's a little inconvenient to expect people to get there for a gathering on a weekday.
Instead, we'll meet up in an establishment of your recommendation in Wellington, the evening of the Wednesday the 20th, 1900.
As per the usual community gatherings, post below:
1) If you are planning to attend. That way we know how many people we need to accommodate.
2) Suggestions as to where to meet.
Requirements:
Must be as all-ages friendly as possible. Don't want to prevent our younger players from attending!
Must not be too loud, so that generally rules out any place that has a live rock band.
We'll revisit this thread about ten days ahead of time, and see if we have a concensus. The final details for location will be announced on this thread, so check back!

why not look at holding the meeting at one of the Wellington RSA venues, I am from Napier but I will be taking the day off to travel to the meeting along with my two sons! Are you allowing people to attend at Waiouru as that is closer to us?

Don't see why you can't tag along, but I expect too few people to be able to make it to qualify as a gathering.

I am from Wellington and there are heaps of places to meet, it depends on what kind of venue you want, coffee house, pub, Bar, restaurant?
I would be keen for a meet and greet.

Hey Chieftan!
Good to see you last week. Hope you are doing well. I've got some friends and clan members that want to know what time you'll be in Waiouru to kick things off. If you don't know just yet, no worries. Keep us posted and have fun!!

I think Porirua or Petone would be a good place to meet, its in the middle of all other places.
there is a great place in Jackson st in Petone called Murphy's Law, its an Irish Pub and has a fire going and has good food.
that would be my first choice

Only a few responses, I guess this will be an intimate event.
Waiouru is off the cards, I'm being held up by Auckland.
If there are only going to be a few of us, I've had a recommendation from a friend for The Malthouse on Courtenay Place.
Anyone going to be put out by this?

OK, after doing some asking around, it'll be the Malthouse, 1900, Thu 20th evening.
You must be a new arrival...
We had a charity drive for ANZAC day a couple of months ago. I'm handing over a cheque to RSA.
