17,000 purchases on MWO Founder Package within 24 hours after it was released and the game is still in Closed Beta. Free market economy for the win.

I will leave it there.
Getting the money in order and I will have mine by the weekend. Going to get the Legendary.

Tanks will start to fizzle out in about  6 months. Theyll start to lose steam. The playerbase will get frustrated at the lack of support, and promises upon promises of they will fix it.

In about a year year and a half the population will start a slow but steady decline.

Two years, two and a half years I could easily see 60% of the NA population gone.

3 years WG is forced to merge the NA and EU clusters togeather.

4 years after bringning in new Tier 8 Premiums the game will slowly stagnate into World of High Tier tanks.

5 Years WG is forced to merge the NA/EU cluster into the RU cluster.

IF they are still even open by then. Seeing as their last few titles have been turds,I see this game going the way of the dodo in 2ish years.

As been stated before,We are NA,not RU.

WoWP is boring. Its the same thing but with planes. Only nice thing is that Tier 1 biplanes can kill tier 10 jets.

a Game I've played for 12 years is called Everquest is still around almost 13 years later the core of the game is old but it still has a good sized player based and mind you it's almost 13 years old this game pre dates WOW- back in 2001 I've read post just like  OP has copyed and pasted back on the old EQ forums years ago seem like now they have found they're way here.

Question is will this game grow ? who knows- it just funny how the doomers and gloomers how found they're way here. how about this play and have fun this game will be around longer then 5 year however you may not be around in 5 years.

coming from a old gamer and some one who has been around the block like my self...and EQ being a much harder game then eithere WOW or this game has lasted the test of time

all i can say is WOT will be around just as long or even long so enjoy and have fun -

This game is hardly EQ or WoW.  And I am willing to bet you that WoT won't be here even half as long EQ.  This game has way more issues.  And at least in WoW and EQ you have main quests and PvE.  WoT is nothing but PvP, and the technical issues make it a chore at best.

In short, you cannot compare a game like this to EQ and WoW.

I don't have a single close friend who still plays WOT.  I haven't introduced anybody to WOT since last year.  Nor would I. The people I would consider my best WOT-met acquaintances barely play anymore either.  I look at the forums and most of the people I see playing now are not the same people who I remember from last year.   Within five years, everybody who has any interest in driving tanks will have given WOT a try and found it lacking on multiple fronts.
All my friends quit too... Even the one that showed me WoT back in beta... Even im going off and on with playing it.

In 5 years there will be 1 game mode in WOT, and that is "AFK"

There are plenty of issues that World of Tanks has that I have seen in other MMO RPG's.  And if they follow the same pattern they are only destined to doom themselves as well.

1:  Age of Players:

There are alot of players that play this game that are at least 13 and up in age.  Some you wonder if their younger in game as well.  And with the fact that you do have alot of younger players creates a much awkward envioriment for players that are either 17 and up, or even 21 and up.  While it is appealing to see a younger generation to have interest in something at the same time too you basically have younger players that tend to like to shoot off their mouths, arrogantly whine and bitch about the gameplay when they probably only have a noob tank their starting to learn about and not exploit it's full potential correctly.  And in most of the battles try out their new toys on other team players and start internal conflicts often.  In the words of Edmund Duke from Starcraft, "Been a General for 15 years, and I'm taking orders from a PUP!"

2:  Tier Pay and Compensation:

I agree with the issue also on money making in World of Tanks as well.  For crying out loud just to even get good you have to literally be a "Wallet Warrior" just to make it big.  Too me we folks in Shaiya had a term for this, "Lapis Pimping".  Basically meaning a person even if new, immediately pays out more clams to make themselves big and the top of the game.  Oh sure yeah doing that helps make money for Wargaming.net.  But at the same time too it makes us hard working gamers that go through blood and sweat hardly get nothing.  And even just to make money on a Standard Account usually you have to play a lower Tier Tank just to make money at all.  And the xp earned from that is not even going to the higher tier your grinding.  I mean oh sure there is the free xp that can be accumilated, but still it takes longer with free xp than it does with normal xp.  The other issue with this is all as you play the higher tier tanks you also end up loosing more money if you loose.  And to also add when one tech tree faction has a good money making tank like the M4A3E2 Jumbo Sherman back in it's day they nerfed the money making capability in 7.5 Edition.  Then you have the Gold Tanks you buy and those guns are hardly worth shit.

3:  Censorship:

Again this is to reinforce what was said about issue One.  Most of these players are at least 13 and up if perhaps maybe younger.  When commonly alot of players that personally do MMO's are at least 17 and up or older.  Now yes you are going to have alot of cursing, raging, spats, and even insults made.  And for someone to just curse and swear, well that comes with age.  They expect players to have a since of maturity when conducting themselves accordingly when it comes to chatting.  But come on like I said "Most People", that play MMO's are infact 17 and up.  So if there is an issue with "Swearing" under their "Insult and Provocation" clause of their Terms of Agreement.  Well most players just might infact uninstall their game and move on to better things.  Again also this can result when the majority of players inciting conflicts are NOOBS.  That being the younger age crowd.  Pretty much WoT has really dug themselves into a 6' grave with this one and if the pattern continues here is destined to be pushing up daisys for sure.

4:  Random Numbers Mechanics/Generator:

Now this is the big one I have seen in the past with Star Wars Galaxies, and even things like Shaiya, and even Eve Online sometimes complicate with.  But most of all here.  Players know what I am talking about when I mention "Dice Roll" when it comes to WoT.  Picture this, your at Mountain Pass your in a T29.  Across from you about say 300 m is a VK2801 tracked and a sitting duck.  Your tank with the 105mm gun is aimmed right upon his ass.  Your crew is at 100%, with additional skills and perks fully trained as well.  The elite of your garage bunch.  You aim centered and fire.  But whats this? Bounce? Penetrate and no damage when the target is strictly inferior in Tier and Armor to your T29, and to top it off tracked?  Yes this is the common scenario of Random Numbers Mechanics or aka the "Dice Roll".  Just like hopelessly how the Mix Matching system was way before 7.5 update the fights highly unfair and unequaled as well.  So is now also the RNG.  For players that work so hard and can almost taste that final kill to add and scratch up on their service record.  Clear, out in the open, no obstruction or interference.  And then the shot taken and nothing.  Yes this is the most major screw up of all time in WoT.  And if this is the same pattern.  This will make players even feel more frustrated and bone determine them to go to the nearest GameStop and trade WoTs for something they percieve as "better".

Overall yes there is alot of things those Russians over there need to figure out if they think that us North American folks are going to give praise about it.  And some of the issues noted here while there are still plenty others is just the tip of the iceberg to percieve.  It has potential but hopefully it won't end up like SWG did in over updating and over formating just to get people to spend more and more money and not get the satisfaction they paid so dearly out of their pockets for.

Obviously you've made a habit of this "uninstalling and not playing" thing for a really long time! [/sarcasm]

Funny enough I find the test server more fun. No worries about credits or xp. Just go have fun. I wish they'd just charge a monthly fee and vastly increase credit gains. I have many vehicles unlocked that I can't be bothered to go grind the credits for. The whole model for our best tanks is a failure in my opinion. We should be allowed to play the tanks we love. Instead of playing ones we don't really like to earn credits. We'll spend the money free xping when new tanks come out anyway. This is the most expensive game I've ever played and I feel punished for spending my money. This has lead me to playing and paying less...
