Well, we all know how the game's spot system work "well" for german tanks. They are easily spotted because they much bigger than other tanks, right?

So, I was browsing the EU forums, and some guy asked Overlord to reconsider KT's size. Of course, no one answered him.
Check this out!

The real thing

As you can see, either the in-game Sherman is too small or KT is too big.
WG already resized KT, and now JT, to its "historical" size, so Sherman is too small. And this is huge advantage, given the spotting system we now have.

Question is: Sherman is the only tank that does not match its historical size, or there are others?

If the stairs on the left is to scale, then I say the sherman is too small.

Real nice find. I had always thought the Sherman looked small alongside my King Tiger.

I can imagine WG isn't going to do anything though, and I wouldn't be surprised if we got something like this in regards to it from them.

no.

germans were known to overengineer everything they had, even toasters. The cartoonish size of german tanks emphasizes how bad german engineering was.

When SerB tried to prove that transmission could not fit in the back of E series, he said the KT, which has a similar hull, was 6.4 mts long, while the AMX 50B is 1 mts longer. That is why AMX could fit transmission in the rear and E series could not.

Well, he forgot two things.
1 - KT length = 7.26 mts. (some sources display 7.38)
2 - 6.4 mts would make KT shorter than IS3... So he forgot to look at his own game to compare the models. lol

Now everyone at WG agrees that KT is indeed 7.38 mts, Basically, they proved themselves wrong.

The sherman is a bit tiny ingame, as it was a fairly big tank historically. The 2nd picture is a bad reference also, the KT is sinking into the ground, causing it to appear shorter.

Not just spotting, but targeting. A bigger target means you need less accuracy to hit it.

This has always bugged me as either the KT is way too massive or the Sherman is way too small. Either way it should be fixed but I somehow doubt it will be.

60% of German tanks ingame is massive compared to its peers. Whenever i drive alongside an IS-3, i think to myself: "Is that IS-3 manned by midgets?".  Seriously, with every patch, russian tanks seems to get smaller and smaller to the point its midget sized...

Tiger P and Ferdinand P also share the size issue as well and with the resize of the KT, the KT is now two times bigger than the E-75..

to your question of midgets, in a way yes.  correct me if i am wrong but i believe the russians had a hight restriction to their tank crews

Height of the M4 Sherman: 9ft

Height of the King Tiger: 10ft 2in.

Height of T-34: 8ft

Sherman seems to be a wee bit too short eh?

Not all tanks though. AFAIK T-54/55 have crew height restriction.

I remember driving through Iraq in my Caiman MRAP and we passed an Iraqi Check Point manned by a few squads of Iraqi infantry with 2 russian APC's, some older 50's design, similar to a tracked BTR-50.  The turret from hull to lid was about 18"tall. That thing had to be about 6 feet tall, and our truck was 12' easy.  Such a different philosophy in vehicle design.

Tanks in the Red Army always had height restrictions for Tankers this was pretty much staple of the Soviet Red Army doctrine.

At the expense of the crew. Soviet vehicles were typically very uncomfortable

Yes, Russian tanks were very small. What I have trouble understanding, is that the Sherman is very light for its apparent huge size, it weighs around 30 tons. Even the Jumbo with its huge armor upgrade isn't that heavy. So where does the KT get all its weight then?
