Light Tank Mk VII Tetrarch
Posted Image
The Light Tank Mk VII (A17), also known as the Tetrarch, was a "British Light Tank" produced by Vickers-Armstrong in the late 1930s and deployed during World War II. It was originally designed for the latest "inline" light tanks built for the British Army. The tank has a 2 pounder gun on it, and it amazed the War Office so much, they ordered 70 of these tanks to be made, but that soon increased to 220. But, production was delayed by several factors, and as a consequence, only 100 to 177 of the tanks were produced. The tank's design flaws, combined with the decision by the War Office not to use light tanks in British armoured divisions, ruled out the use of Tetrarchs in the North African campaign. As a result, the majority of the tanks remained in Britain, although 20 were sent to the USSR as part of the Lend-Lease program.

I hope the Tet we have in game stays AWESOME like it is but becomes a British Premium instead of a Russian one....then they put another Tetrarch in the actual British tree......or Else just make the Tet british and then make it the first British premium tank to buy +D  ITs awesome as is right now lol.

The Tet as currently presented represents an odd game development blind alley since it's self-evidently a stand-alone British tank that was assigned to the Russian group. For this reason when the British tree is planted the Tet presumably won't be offered on one of its branches in a later patch; instead it will continue to soldier on as a Russia-only unit.

This awkward puzzle does not apply to other British tanks in the Russian lob since there are numerous marks and derivatives of the Matilda, Valentine and Churchill than can be rolled out as British-only offerings.

I love my Tet, it's a minnie T59 and it's still fun to play in the lower tier battles.

There was a light tank Mk VIII, you know... Also, some tets had 3" derps fitted. I want one.

The Tetarch is a God, I easily get 3-5 kills in most matches. It feels special to me, and I'm too greedy to share it!

I wonder what upgrades it would get though, it already has an excellent engine and gun as a prem, and in 8.0 it acually bounces some shells..which is amazing.

When I first started WoT I feared the other team having a Tetarch  because somehow It would find me and Kill me.

I would love to see it in the British Tank tree.

The only weapon option I can forsee on a researchable tetrarch is a 2 pounder with "little john" adapter. The "little john" adapter functions as a squeeze bore gun, which takes a standard 2 pounder charge firing a smaller tungsten carbide round within a soft metal case down a tapering barrel producing much greater velocity. I might not be describing it 100% accurately off the top of my dome, but its close. Think Konisch from the Vk3601.

Littlejohn is on the matilda at T4 in-game. IIRC a 15mm BESA was considered, and a 3" CS howitzer was fitted to some - I know I've mentioned it before, but I really want it.

tet would not really benefit from the little john, the 2pdr's pen is more than good enough for T2 and the LL only has 5 more alpha damage with no HE

They could always chunk it in at a higher tier and give it a bigger health pool.

You are also forgetting that the Tetrarch was also armed with a 76.2mm howitzer, these were called 'Tetrarch 1 CS (Close Support)'. Poor penetration or not I'm not sure any of us think a 50km/h tank armed with a 76.2mm howitzer would be fair at Tier 2  :Smile_veryhappy:
