PzII rail?

What is the little rail/chute on the Pz2 for? If you're looking at the tank from the front, it's on the left side of the hull. Pic stashed behind spoiler, you can see it, the rail, quite clearly.

Notice how the antenna mount is directly in line with the rail, and looks like it's made to swivel. The rail is stowage for the antenna.

Russians welded these 'ramps' on some of the front sides/tread coversto try and deflect/prevent brush/trees/fencing from wadding up around the turret as well.

I tried to find the link to the biography about a russian tank commander talking about it..oh well, if I find it I'll post it, RL is interfering suddenly

Its for the radio the antenna flips down into it so it is not damaged when your rumblin in the jungle. :Smile_smile:
