Always wondered why Fog of War isn't setup for public battles would be nice to not know for a change who is on the other team in terms of skill or tank setup.

How would the XVM guys know if they are gonna win or lose? :Smile-hiding:

Now here is someone with a good Idea.

Scouting would be a much more useful tactic then what it is now.

WOndered the same thing, though don't know any unintended consequences. (Unlike many I think the designers actually know what they're doing game design wise.) Would be a positive IMO.

Shhhhh, you'll start a bun fight.  :Smile_teethhappy:

Actually I've been using for about two weeks now and I don't think its all that accurate. Just won a battle in my Matida where it said we had a <30% chance of winning.   :Smile_glasses:

Personally I would say it is a great idea.  People would stop complaining about MM in respect to their being too many of one tank, more tier 9s (or 8,7, 6, etc.)  then their own team.  It would like someone said also make scouting far more useful cuz instead of how it is now, finding where each tank went, it would not only do that but discover what they are.  Teh XVM guys will get over it, all the really care about is seeing who is on tehir won team.  And you cannot always judge someone by a few numbers.  They can still shoot at you ya know :Smile_Default:

That is the way of it in clan battles. You could be 15 on 2 (rarely) but until you play it you don't know. Your only indicator is the number of chips placed. On landings, you have to use 15 chips which means up to 15 tanks. It is much more interesting because you have no idea what tiers, types or categories are in the match.

ya brilliant, 80% of the players have no clue how to win when they have a map.

I would love it as a randomly assigned variation to current maps (maybe... night battles?! ). It is too far a departure from the current random battle system for us to simply throw the way we do things right now out the window completely though.

I say no it one reason I dont want to get in to the clan wars. And real players have enough trouble learning how to play in pub gams dont need to make it harder.

A yes answer would cure the MM problem. Then you wouldn't know you were getting hosed as a tier 5 in a tier 7,8 and 9 battle. You wouldn't complain then, right?  (please note sarcasm here) ;)

it would make it much more exciting when you "find" a big tank and much more useful to communicate with you team mates^^

I would love the fog of war in Pubs, scouts will have more use instead of suiscouting. Plus it might actually involve tactical thought coming from people.

I'm thinking this would be great.  I'll bet it would greatly reduce the battles where the majority of the team decides right away to camp not venture out there because the enemy has too many high tiered arties, TDs, HTs, or whatever.

It would also make playing arty more difficult because they wouldn't know if the enemy had few scouts/lots of scouts, etc.

Maybe they could just add it to tier 6+ battles.

I voted I don't know, but it sounds promising and like a good idea on the surface.

i voted yes, however your team kinda needs to know where and what something will be challenging them.

for example, himmelsdorf, the hill, enemy has 3 or 4 meds, so our 3 or 4 meds must go hill. if fog of war is on, there will be more, and more often, roll stomps. rng might as well be a 100 sided dice, and there should be 3 of them, by god!.

For some reason I read the title as 'pubic battles'

Quit using foul language like that. Next you'll be telling me I have to use *gasp* teamwork !

But seriously, if anything you guys are right. It would make scouts more valuable and reduce the whining at the beginning of a match.

This is the best idea I have heard in a long, long time.  I voted yes.  Fog of War should be implemented in Random Battle.  And XVM should be banned.

I played three games yesterday.  All three were "We're going to win" or "Top tank sucks; we lose".  We won all three games.

But I got sick of that BS real quick.  Especially in the last game where absolutely no one else was supporting our top tank except me.  It made me want to throw up.

Logged off.  Didn't get back on.

If this is the direction WG is allowing Random Battle to go, they can have it.
