New Tier 10 Medium tanks.

I've been looking at the tier 10 medium announcement, and I've been thinking. World of Tanks is supposed to use primarily WW2 tanks. Of course the French are excluded because they made like 5 diffferent tanks in that time period. But many of the Russian high tiers are actually way after WW2. Take the T-44, the T-54, the IS-3, the IS-8, the IS-4, and now soon to come out, the T-62A. Now the Americans are the only other faction to have post-war tanks. Those being the M46, the M103, and the T110E5, and soon the M48. Now. The T-62 is still being used today. So why can't the American line get the M60 MBT? Its a medium tank, built off the M48 Patton, but it has 155mm of sloped frontal armor. It served during the same period of time as the T-62. So why not WG? If your Soviet line can get so many modern tanks, why can't the others? Though I have to say, that M48 looks sexy as all heaven, and I can't WAIT for it to come to papa. *edit* I apologize, I did not understand some of the tank restrictions(mainly because NONE OF THAT IS POSTED ANYWHERE!).

The T-62A is a prototype T-62 that lacked a lot of the things that make the T-62 too powerful/advanced to be part of the game including it's smoothbore cannon which WG have specifically said is a kind of line. They consider smoothbores to be too far into the next generation of tanks and that's why they feel their T-62 prototype is OK for the game and equal to the M48 and why the real T-62 and M60 will never be added to the game(unless they push their deadline back even farther which I doubt will happen).

the game is based on tanks that began development, were in service, built prototypes, or were planned for developement anywhere from 1920 to 1950.

Why do people insist on the T-62's use TODAY as a reason it should be in the game?
For another thing, it's the T-62A, not the T-62. It's the prototype.
And it never focused specifically on WW2 tanks, those just happened to fill up the majority of it

Heck, they could add an Abrams without disrupting game balance, as long as the stats fit. Era doesn't matter, only stats.

They already stated that the new limit line for tanks is smoothbores. That's why they chose the T-62A instead of the T-62 for the Soviets. There's already a huge discussion about this on the official news thread.

Sorry to say, but WoT has never been only about WW2 tanks! It covers the major development periods of tank development starting in the 1930's up to about the 1960's.

I going to point something out here. The T-62a is not out of the timeline at all. The M103 was brought into service after improvements in 1956. The T-62a was built in 1958.
There also is the upgrades to factor in the equation. While the M48 may be built earlier it will likely be recieving upgrades like the 105mm while the T-62a's will be from earlier prototypes to it.

The T-44 was made in 1944, but it had engine problems, so was never made. The IS-3 was also made during WWII, just near the end, 1945, and was continued being used after the War. Also the T-54 was made in 1948, which if your honesly raging about a 3 year difference, well then... nvm, but anyway the IS-4 was made in post-WWII-1940s, and the IS8 sucks. In fact the M103 is prolly the best tier 9, as its manuverable, and much smaller then the E-75, but with on par HP. It's angle is also extremely good, and practicly impossible to negate. The Germans have advanced tanks for there age, the french you already said, the Chinese have OP tanks becuase they have a Gold '59, lol, and the french we have already discused. So tell me this, what made you even think this was a WWII-era game, becuase you both know that the tier 1s were never in WWII, and if you arrogent enough to think those where in WWII, stop playing WoT right now, and go have fun playing some other game you won't rant about, as frankly we all know the T-62A isn't the T-62, and the T-62A will get ammo-racked so easily, and those other tier 10 meds deffently look like a challenge to the T-62A, 'cuase the E-50M looks like a Juggernaut, and the M48A3 looks like a Boss too me.

think we might see the West German Leo1? or maybe the MBT70? And don't forget the Israeli Isherman versions of the Sherman. Or the Super Sherman with the AMX 13 turret. The Ontos? I like the cutoff because who wants to take a tier 4 lee against an M60 type tank? Going against KV5s / Type 59s is bad enough.

Yep, basically, the T-62A is a slightly larger T-55, with the final T-54 gun mounted. Or as far as a game comparison is concerned, a slightly larger elite T-54, with more hp.

The M60 is the logical tank to add with the T62. They will never add the M60 because that is the beginning of absolute American superiority which Russians can not bring themselves to admit. The M60 would be the best tank in the game by light years. It is a new generation, on a whole different level than anything the Russians were capable of producing until the 1980s. It will never be in the game because it is on a different level than anyone elses technology of the day and Russians are culturally incapable of admitting that.
