That Picture where it says: 7,965 -- that's how much more experience you need to get until you can unlock that vehicle

Your experience earned on the tank is the "Experience to Distribute"

"Free Experience" is experience that can be used on any tank

You have to grind out the experience to get the modules and next tier tanks unlocked.

There are a few guides of how to do research for this Heavy Tree. Here is a guide that i referred to: Click Here

That is the amount of experience you need to acquire so you can research those items. You get experience in battle and the more you accumulate the more you can research. Most of the tanks in the store have to be researched before you can buy them, save for the Premium tanks that you can buy with gold.

That number is how much more XP you need before you can purchase the tank.

Like everyone else has said. You need to battle to gain XP and Silver Credits. To research the next module or tank, it takes a certain amount of XP to unlock. Also, the number underneath the XP, is the amount of credits needed to buy the tank. In your example, you need about 8,000 XP to unlock the T1HT, and another 435,000 credits to purchase it from the store.

Also, if you look at your depot, under modules, there are probably a bunch of modules there you can sell to gain credits.  When you are battling thru tanks to get to the next tank, we call that "grinding".

Before you can "purchase" a tank in the tank tree you must first "research" it. In order to research it you have to use XP that is earned by playing the game. You can only use the XP earned by one tank to research the tank in the next lever, ie: you are in a tier 3 tank you can only research modules for that tank or the tank at tier 4 in the same tree.

As for buying a tank from the store, these are refered to as "Premium Tanks". They will allow you the chance to make extra credits which are considered the "cash" of the game. These tanks are bought using "GOLD" which is purchased with your real money deposited into the game.

When you highlight a tank in the tree the first number you see, in your case it is the XP, the 2nd number is the credits needed.

5% of all XP earned is put into "Free Experience" that can be used towards the purchase of modules or tanks. You are restricted to next level in the tree you are working on or the bottom of another tree.

If you were to look through the forums I am sure there is a more detailed posting about how it works.

Enjoy the game.

That number is the xp you need to research the T1. XP unlocks tanks, credits buy tanks.

doesnt matter how you get the tanks but in store there are premium tanks aswell which you buy with gold
and the number is how much xp you need for that upgrade (it tells you with both your free xp and regular xp so be carful dont want to lose all your free xp on a tank research)

You're welcome.

You will find that the majority of players here are helpful to one another, it is only a small percentage that aren't.

First of all, you'll probably find the wiki to be a huge help in understanding various aspects of the game.

To directly answer your question, the tech tree is the progression along each vehicle class for a given nationality. You can only progress through the tree by acquiring experience, or "XP", an then "spending" it to research a given vehicle or to upgrade the various modules of that vehicle, such as the engine, radio, gun, etc.

In addition to earning experience during battles, you also acquire credits. Once you have researched a vehicle using your XP, you can then buy the vehicle with credits. Modules also cost credits.

In short, anything that you acquire in the game requires a combination of experience to "unlock" (research) and credits to purchase. The exception are some items, such as premium ammo, consumables, and tanks, that you can acquire with gold without the need to unlock.

The Wiki has given me enough information to be very dangerous on the battlefield. There is much information there than many never bother to learn, so knowing even a fraction of the information there will give you a great advantage.
