I will directly cut and paste from the skirmish V tournement page as it applies to team entry.
"Teams will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. Teams which apply first will be accepted first (note that applying your team for the tournament is different than creating your team). You can find instructions on applying here"
When my team was applied, with all of the criteria properly met for the skirmish V tourney, I did a quick sort of the teams and sorted by "pending approval". There were "11" total teams at that time therefore guaranteeing my team a spot in the tournement. (barring disqualification for bad team count ect.)
A full day later I checked a second time and there was just over 50 teams submitted...but still not "64".
How is it that with "First come First serve" application that my team is not in the tourney?
What favoritism/random generator/ect.. is actually used to create the participant list?
Shouldnt Teams that participate in clanwars and have hundreds of members actually be LAST picked in favor of smaller clans that otherwise dont get to participate?
Anxiously awaiting clarification.

Did you try... um... messaging WG to see why you didn't get picked?
*edit*
I did a quick search for you, and it appears that pretty much every single team picked had 8 members in it while you had 6. You might wanna ask WG if not having the max number has any impact on participation. it is possible that while filling the bracket, they sorted it wrong.

Like Whiskey said. More often than not teams look at there last modified date and not by when they submitted the team. This causes some confusion. In the past it has always been the first 64, as I assume it is the same here as well.

yea dont know, the only thing i can think of is that you have to have a certain number of members at their "pick" time. Even though your team was submitted earlier than many others, at the time of "picking" you didn't have enough members and was disqualified.
Thats the only thing i can think of. You might not have to have the right amount of members at registration, but at a certain time they might expect your team to be ready and up to count.

I have to agree about having a full team. These tournies/ challenges have a lot of tech victories because teams cant field a full 5 member team, and I'm sure WG in a bid to lessen these type of forfeits and techs are giving preference to full teams when it come time to fill out the brackets.
For example, we are currently in round 4 of the challenge and our last 2 matches had only 1 enemy tanker show for the battles. The last round was the only 1 of 4 which we faced a full team.
Im glad WG is giving prefernce to full teams but also agree that it should have been posted somewhere in the registration page that teams are chosen by roster limit first, then first come first serve. If, this is in fact what they did, and not just a mistake.
Can we get a clarification from GD or LF? I think a lot of people are confused at how teams got chosen. Also, I dont remember a skirmish that had double the registration then teams that can participate. This tier3 format was very popular and probably took them by surpirse.

Its great that nobody from wargameing has read this so far. just speculation. My team met 100% of ALL criteria to be picked. and was submitted inside the top 64 PERIOD.
if they are going to use some other criteria. it needs to be stated or its a violation of trust, and possibly a legal violation in any state in the USA for misrepresentation.
Awaiting response still.
please reserve response of you do not represent wargaming.net.

PS.. jost a fun note.. the next line of the requirements...
"Please keep all team names alpha-numeric. Characters such as "?, %, @, ^, etc" may cause issues with your team, and prevent you from being able to participate in the tournament."
21 teams violated this and are still in the tournement.

Teams are chosen by the "Last Modified" attribute, when a team applies the attribute updates and does not allow further modification by team members. It should be noted that this attribute is also modified again once the team is accepted.
If you believe you were eligible and not accepted, I would be more than happy to take a look, as we'd like to know if there are issues with the process. If you could provide your team name and a description of exactly what happened (and what you saw prior to it) in a PM that would be very helpful!
