You can't expect to rape the entire whole team every match with it. You have to play it depending on where you're placed in the lineup. If you're low on the pole, you have to use it like a passive scout. The gun isn't all that great to snipe tier 6s and 7s will bounce it. If you're in a tier 5 match look the hell out. Take down everything by using your speed. The gun does more damage up close. Circle tanks below tier 6 with ease.

Ahhhhh the joys of doing this

to the KV before it was split....
3/4 is a good tank, but it requires situational awareness and the ability to adjust your position and tactics on the fly in order to get the most out of it. You have to know how to drive, and you have to be paying attention to what's going on in the battle at all times.
Pz3/4 is a jack-of-all-trades tank. It's very versatile, but doesn't really excel at any one thing. You can't really play it as a sniper; it doesn't have the accuracy or penetration. You can't really play it as a brawler; it doesn't have the punch or the armor. You can't really scout with it all that much (though you will be called upon to do so when you're at the bottom of the list, so use your speed to find a good scouting bush and stay there until the battle starts to develop); it's too big and too easy to track.
But what you CAN do is go anywhere on the map within a matter of seconds, and this is the most important thing to remember; you can easily do things many of your teammates can't. You can chase down arty-hunting scouts. You can rush back to base to stop the enemy capturing. You can dart out of cover to take a pot shot at a bigger enemy and then zip back in cover; even if you don't stand much of a chance of damaging him, he will still be distracted by it, which helps your team. Pz3/4 is good at being a general nuisance, and if matchmaker is kind to you, you can be a real terror to the enemy team.
Pz3/4 is the ultimate opportunist tank. It's never useless and always has something to do at any given moment in the battle, no matter what it's facing.
I love mine and it will always have a spot in my garage. Can't say the same about the Pz IV.
