I gotta say, this has been a strange chapter! Then again, I'm sure that strange things can happen when you start off with a Maus...wait...that gives me an excellent idea for a new World of Tanks game!

Here's the idea: You start the game with a T110E5, a Maus, an E-100, an AMX-50B, an IS-4 and an IS-7. For every battle, you lose some credits and experience. When you lose enough with a tank, then you can lock that tank and get the tank below it. Eventually, you end up with a T1 Cunningham, a LolTraktor, a Renault FT-17 and an MS-1/T-18.

LOL!

This dude was put into battle starting from a factory engineering prototype tanks. That means he doesn't start from scratch. But there's also Rattes so it's not as World of Tanks-like as you might think.

Jeez... everyone is using the name "Goliath".

Started with AlphaAndOmega, then I used it, and now General534 is also incorperating it in his storys...

There are Rattes in your story? I thought all those went extinct in the tale of Sergeant Leopard! Even if they're in your story, my hero probably won't see any.

The opposite of heat up is: Things are finally starting to...

Chapter IX: Cool Down

In our last chapter...

Spoiler

I traveled back to the fields of Prokhorovka to relieve myself of stress.
At this time of year the grass shone in the sun like long blades of gold.
The snow had melted clean, and Spring was on its way.
This also meant two things: More resources, and more battles being fought over them.
Without the snow, the land was even more suitable for tanks.
Hopefully nobody would attack me, but even if they did, they probably wouldn't penetrate my armor.
And even if they did penetrate, I would make short work of them.
The sun rose high over Prokhorovka.
I saw the last of the volcano in the distance.
An ash plume was heading towards a group of tanks at about 60 miles per hour.
I heard the same roar, the roar of napalm, the roar of fire, the roar of debris, the roar of volcanic eruptions, the roar of explosions, the roar of bombs, the roar of thunder, the roar of the lion, and now, here it was again.
It swiftly devoured the tank company.
I backed up my tank slightly, but I don't know why.
I just felt the urge.

I was glad I did that too.
An artillery shell landed right at my previous position.
BOOM!
Hit the dirt!
I rotated my turret.
Enemy artillery spotted.
Fire!
BOOM!
Arty down!
Well, might as well enjoy the day, what day I have before I get shot at again.
For the rest of the day I relaxed on Prokhorovka.
Just before I left for the garage, I spotted something.
A KV-2 tank, and painted on it were words 'GOLIATH'.
What a coincidence!
Same time same place.
This oughta be good!

The tale of sergeant leopard? WHAT?

And yes, my tanker doesn't like his Ratte. Read the whole thing.
He keeps it in storage for when he REALLY needs it.
He prefers the Maus because at least he gets challenged.

I forget the exact title, but there was another story about a company of German tanks, one of which was a Leopard. I believe they were led by a Maus.

Chapter X: Initial Meeting

In our last chapter...
Spoiler

He turned his turret towards me, and stood there for 30 seconds.
Suddenly, an IS-4 rammed into my side!
I aimed the turret, and fired.
BOOM!
Luckily his tank was almost destroyed, so I killed him in one shot.
I turned back to Goliath.
The KV-2 tanker finally fired a shot at me, just glancing off my hull.
It made a loud sound though, and I was sure he was pretty satisfied with his shot.
Now I wanted this guy to live, and I admired his skill.
From what I had heard about him he was a very deadly one man army, that cost the lives of many people.
Many factions, clans, and companies, including one I know much about (W.G.), has been chasing this man.
They say he wears an indestructible armor suit.
He has survived detonation of his tank and capture by one of W.G.'s best units, the Red Wolves.
They call him The Steel Soldier.
Aimed my cannon at him but didn't fire.
I tried to relay a radio message reading, "Hey, don't shoot, I won't fire!"
But the message came out in static, and he fired one more time before he started to take off.
Now I wasn't about to give up so I began to follow him, though I was much slower.
He knew I was following, so he led me on a wild goose chase.
I didn't know what he would do with me next...

Interesting description of my hero by a third party! Actually, after his encounter with the Red Wolves, he replaced his suit with a slightly modified version that absorbs attacks better.

After you read this chapter Alpha read your thread its hilarious:

Large, cratelike...seems...Mausy.

Hmm...I smell a Ratte!

Is it of Monstrous proportions?

Seems quiet (loud) as a Maus.

Cutscene

I traveled to Westfield the next day.
Westfield was a large, green valley, with an enourmous bridge over the center of the valley.
This major crossing point, had sadly been broken in two.
Today, I was quietly crossing under the viaduct with my Maus.
I noticed a T-150 in the distance taking on some tanks...
I was about to fire, but I realized it was The Steel Soldier.
He left Westfield before I could talk to him.

Correction: It wasn't actually a tank company; it was just a generic team of random tankers.

Chapter XI: You Sank My Battleship!

The next day, I decided to travel to the Steppes.
Almost immediately, an IS-4 ran into me.
BOOM!
Okay, next tank coming up, King Tiggy.
Tiger II locked, fire!
BOOM!
Tank down!
Now for this T29...
Fire!
Ping!
Arrgh, bounced off the heavily armored turret.
I suddenly heard a scraping noise on the hull of my tank.
Hmm... must be shrapnel, I thought.
BOOM!
Our rear was hit!
Fire again!
BOOM!
T29 down!

Then I noticed the AT Mine on my hull.
I rotated my turret to see Goliath aiming at me.
Bail out!
BOOM!
My tank exploded behind me.
The mighty Maus, all gone.
Thanks to him.
I started crawling, coughing and brushing off the ash.
Goliath was driving away, when I saw him look in my direction.
I had been spotted.
He aimed his cannon at me...
"Wait, don't shoot!"
"Oh yeah, why shouldn't I," he replied.
"Please, I wish to talk to you!"
"What?!"

Two perspectives.

One of Alpha's hero, and one of mine, and they eventually meet up, as you can see by reading both stories.
