same problem for me, what OS do you use because this is happening to alot of vista users it seems because of I think C++ not recognizing the game so it causes this error I read this on the Windows Vista forums about what side-by-side config being incorrect means.

Hi laxrules56, I read every thread in here.
This is done for the purpose of collecting bugs, feedback suggestions etc, to forward off to the development team for their investigation.

I dont have any answers for you yet through, it appears to be a new bug, that is only effecting you and another so far.

Have you installed it to a separate new directory, and running it mod free?

Regards
Tan.
so the devs dont know..

I have windows 7 actually and am having the same problem.

Have no idea how to check log file however, if someone could help me with that. I have looked inside WoT folder but do not see a logs folder, even when digging into each of those folders. I took screenshots of what I'm talking about but attaching pics on this also seems to be a nightmare....

C:\Games\World_of_Tanks and you should see a file that says WOTLauncher.log open that

side-by-side configuration is incorrect.
Same for me as well.  The only fix I've found so far is to Uninstall and reinstall.
Being that I dont have much time to play when i'm off work. I spend more time Reinstalling this game then playing it.
I'm going to leave the game till its confirmed fixed.
Till then. Good Hunting Gents.

My problem is  a little different I have downloaded the installer for 0.7.4 several times and never have been able to get the game to install. The last time I cleaned out all the temp files and directories and then downloaded the installer and ran it. It went through extracting all the files and then when it got to processing a file with the extension .pyc it stopped and said could not process because there was not enough storage space. I have 14 gigs clear on that drive and so decided to try "retry". It progressed a bit and then stopped again with the same message. I continued to hit "retry" and after about eight times the install completed. However when i ran the program, it comes up with a screen where the PLAY button is located and when I click on that the game screen comes up and it starts to load...but stops at about 50% and then disappears.
I've been trying all day to get this thing to work. Here is the launcher log.
