if they want me as a noobie to fuck around with registry i want a free installation of my operating system and 3 days of premium for lost game time, cmon ffs. make a tiny update patch for us guys that have this problem instead. maybe even better to do a good patch from the start?
#44 Posted Jun 22 2012 - 16:01
I DID EVERYTHING PEOPLE SAID IN DIFFERENT POSTS AND I STILL GET BOTH THE CRITICAL ERROR AND SIDE BY SIDE CONFIGURATION. wot get your heads out of your arse ive been grounded from this game for three days, not a big problem for me but for those people with premium memberships, then its A BIG PROBLEM. fix it!!!!

Ok, I've been trying to fix this error for hours - all day, in fact.
I GOT IT WORKING!!
What fixed mine was the following I found on a Microsoft tech support forum:
----
Another possible fix:
For side by side configuration issue
Click on Start> Control panel> Program> Program and features
Uninstall all Microsoft Visual C++ applications listed.
Once done, download the Visual C++ 2008 SP1 from the link below, installed it and check if office applications works fine:
http://www.microsoft...&displayLang=en
------
I tried all the other methods (registry editing, etc.). I can't tell you how many times I've installed and uninstalled WoT, Visual C++ in multiple versions, etc.
The above suggestion worked for me, just thought I'd pass it along.
- also, I did reboot after I had uninstalled all the versions of Microsoft C++, before I installed the new one I had downloaded.
- Oh, and I'm running Vista

Have Vista as well as many of you, so I uninstalled old 7.3 and uploaded 7.4, still receive same error:
ERROR: system error: (0x36B1)"The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail."
No log is evident. Can't find it, had one before.
