There are benefits to both, as have been posted before. The biggest bonus I think the 3/4 has over the 4 personally is that if you want to get a tiger tank, going down the 3/4 line means you don't have to deal with the pz38na, which is a painful experience in tank grinding. Also, the 3/4 unlocks the option of the medium line. Comparably, if you make it past the hell that is tier 4 light, the panzer 4 unlocks you the long 75, so you don't have to unlock it in the next tier up, as well as makes the second German heavy line available.

You will get a better brawler in tier 6 if you choose PzIII/IV and sooner or later, you will just discard it since there is no reason to keep it. PzIV is the sniper, even VK3601 and Tiger cant snipe as good and as fun as PzIV. And you will meet a lot of competitions, the Amx, T-50 and more if you wanna be a flanker.

Get them both. Me personally I have a lot more fun and a better win percentage in the 3/4.

The III/IV is an interesting ride, but there's a reason why the bastard never made it as a real tank and I tend to prefer the IV myself.
I never understood the concept of the III/IV. It's either Panzer III Ausf N or Panzer IV Ausf D. WoT should split it into 2 distinct tanks!

The pz3/4 is on my {ed. personal} worst tanks of WoT list. To be on this list you need to be worse than a Lee, one of the most famously crap tanks inthe history of warfare that wasn't Italian.
The Italians used rivets on their tanks. You didn't NEED to pen them to kill the crew, just hit them with any heavy round and the rivets would break and kill the crew inside with shrapnel. The Australians once captured a bunch of Italian tanks, and the brass wanted to use them but the Australians refused to even get into the things because it was safer to walk. Ironically the tanks were otherwise quite good. Extremely fast for one thing, but much like the sherman's flammability problem, it turned them from decent to terrible.

The priest Can be a decent SPG IF and only if you spend 1.1 million credits and $5 on it to give it a gun laying drive, rammer, camo net, and gold crew (gold gunner minimum). Then and only then does the thing work as advertised. Which is something you need to do, because it;s heinously expensive xp wise to upgrade. the tank has terrible aim time so it benefits unusually highly from the GLD. So much so that it might be worth saving the 500k first to put it on immediately. The rammer is also required because of the awful penetration of the round which means you rarely do much if any damage to higher tier vehicles, which it sees a lot of. Expect to have to shoot every tank above tier 4 at least 4-5 times tier 7 heavies more like 10
The pz3 is actually on the best tanks in WoT list, but for a single reason. it is the only tier 3 scout that can take multiple hits from high tier tanks. This makes it very usetul in tournaments, but for pubs it's got all the problems of the pz3/4.
the PZ3/4 is merely lackluster when fully upgraded, but it's equipment is heinously expensive, and there's a lot of it, so getting there is an exercise in agony. Before you get the upgraded gun you can;t even pen the front armor of tanks of the same tier, let alone the higher ones you normally see, plus you have the unmitigated joy of seeing tier 9 tanks with it. It is supposed to be a scout flanker, but unless fully upgraded, it is too slow to scout, and doesn't have enough gun to flank. The "bright" side is you get to spend forever with it fully upgraded because it;s got 3 tank unlocks all of which are wildly expensive as well.
The rest of them just permanently suck with no redeeming features at all.
You will notice that the soviets are the only nation not on this list. The answer for that is simple: It's a russian game. The soviet tanks that are bad get buffed til they're not, and the other nations don't. Simple.
Yess yes, give me all kinds of negative karma for saying something less than wonderful about the game. Anything that doesn't blow bunnies and sunshine at the devs seems to earn that here.

PzIV is stable money maker, just sit back and snipe from heavy bush(with some 15m away from you but still cover you against enemy).
PzIII/IV takes more luck.

3/4 is not the worst tank. Man. Opinions should not be taken as facts. 60% win rate wow my luck is good.

I agree. That's why I said my personal list. Your mileage of course may vary. I for instance eventually learned to grudgingly deal with the lee. It's a not very good tank, but it CAN do well in the right situation, if used with the particular tactics required to play a lee. The biggest problem with the lee is that it also has very high upgrade costs. there are a lot of boxes you have to check to get the thing to function, and they're all expensive. This means you spend a long long time with an un upgraded tank that rarely lasts long and consegewntly makes very low xp making the problem worse. it took me over 150 games to get past the thing. My best tank percentage is actually with a pz38t which most people consider an unremarkable vehicle.

Running the PZIV right now its fun to play. Granted you get matched as lower tier in most battles. The stubby little barrel on the big turret is a blast. KBOOOOOOOOOOOM wait wait wait wait wait wait KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM Overall Speed is ok. Hiding and sniper role is the best option unless you are the highest tier in the battle.
