Mediums aren't supposed to just challenge heavies the same tier; alone their DPM and maneuverability gives them a shot, but 1v1's are typically rare.

That being said, I've solo'd more Lowe's than I care to mention. The side-grind isn't unassailable (cupola), on the other hand, just 1-2 misses by a Lowe and the DPM race is severely not in it's favor.

Pretty much.

It all comes down the player.

A good player can make any tank perform well.

A bad player will perform poorly, but will virtually always blame everything (including the tank) except themselves for their loss.

The problem with the Type now is many fold,
1. They redesigned the turret - I found that now the turret bounces far fewer shells and is easy to get an ammorack any where you hit it.
2. You do not find Type wolfpacks anymore - or rarely, when the types first came out, everyone wanted one which led to the 'Type wolfpack' which was deadly effective in pubs..........a single type, or two per team cannot make a big difference unless experienced players handle them.
3. You have very little gun depression and abysmal accuracy combined with poor pen, this is not a good recipe........
4. The Type's initial successes were because it didn't see tier10 battles..............when they increased the MM weight of it to meet Tier10's it became largely inefffective with normal AP rounds.............I seriously doubt if you can do major damage to any Tier10 frontally or for that matter even from the sides if it's a one on one battle...........

In short, the Type is now a 'meh' tank, good for a quick buck and some fun but nothing serious...........

I agree with that 100%......Raptorian & alexsy

I think I have more 1 on 1 kills in my Lowe against T59's than just about any other tank, lots of people in T59's think they have the advantage in a dogfight against a Lowe and if they are up against an unskilled Lowe driver they would be right.

But against a skilled Lowe driver they would be in for a surprise.

The only time a T59 has the advantage against my Lowe is if most of my health is gone or there's a couple other tanks shooting me at close range too.
But I can't remember the last time I lost a close up and even 1 vs 1 fight against a T59.

And the T59 can't stand toe to toe with the top tier 8 heavies or tier 9's
My last battle ended not well when me in my Lowe, a couple T59's and a couple Lorrain's where in a valley, I was holding a Tiger 2 and another Lowe at bay and the rest went around to flank them when they ran smack into an E75 and a French tier 8 heavy.

They did no damage to the enemy and all four of them died and next thing I know I have 2 in front and 2 including that E75 behind me.
Like I said......it did'nt end well.

Well... in every single battle my 59's gets Ammo Racked at least 2 times... it gets hit even if i got shot from the front the other day a t-50 got my ammo rack, arty splash is a hell for my 59 ammo rack, e75 almost ALWAYS kills my tank in 1 shot in the ammo rack, i need to add that i got WET AMMO RACK and the Safe stowage is at 100% and this two perks seems to be a waste of time and credits....

I describe it as a 90%ammo rack, 9% shells and 1% armor on wheels.

The type used to be as fast as the T44. Last night we set up a drag race between a platooned type and T44 and the T44 was noticeably faster.

Top speed is about the same (51 vs 56kph), but the acceleration of the T-44 was always greater than the Type 59.

For a few patches now, the T-44 has had an additional engine added to it's tech tree(same time it got the LB-1), giving it really nice HP/Ton ratio, making it an even more mobile than before.

The Type 59 has a better armor profile (however, the hull armor is lower but has the same slope), but the T-44 has better mobility and RoF.

Next time they go on sale...I'm buying one.

I used to hate them, the battletier they were in was to low, so t5s saw them a lot. And when they wolfpack, you had no chance at all.

Best tier 8 premium and best tier 8 medium, it's got alot of potential if used right. Got jumped by a Pershing yesterday, then I proceeded to bounce all 8 of his shots at 25 meters by keeping my frontal at a 25 degree angle to him

well i find it a lot different from before.  Had many great games in that tank, nowadays i just let it sit in the garage.  Now i read so many players say it depends on the player, well my stats are pretty good considering and my crew on the 59 is on their third skill/perk and my hit ratio is great on this tank as well.  With all that said, today I had four battles in my 59 won three and lost one.  My three wins i had between 3-4 kills each battle and 3-4 damage my experience i gained for these wins was well over 1000+, but my credits i received in the three game wins was a fricken insult....less then 40k each with one game having only made 33k.....I was like WTF?  Even my husband said that wasn't right.
Also noticed that the speed seems a lot slower and nowadays any tank can pen you even when your angled properly (im talking lil tiers here and not tiers 8-10).

I can't seem to enjoy my Panther II. The long aim time and large dispersion with turret movement just completely kills the "sniping" advantage to me. Maybe the dispersion gets better with a vertical stab. I enjoy LB-1 or 90mm on the Pershing much more atm even with the weaker pen. I was expecting a laser going into 88L70, instead what I got was Russian aim time.

Has the average damage per shell been reduced ever, it seems like I used to get more damage per penetrating hit.

Well..
When I play in my lowe or IS or KV-1S
I usually see three kinds of Type 59 drivers..
1 Driver: Runs out like a light tanks and gets killed...
2 Driver: Hull down turret out..
3 Driver: Actually tries to flank
I'm not afraid of 1 or 2
When I see a good number 3 driver...
Tactics change..
http://www.youtube.c...h?v=DXnpf4DdOJc
good video of a flanking driver
This was pretty decent too
