I had this problem and thought I fixed it.

I start the launcher and run as administrator in Vista.

Then the good ol' windows crash report pops up saying that something has caused the program to stop working.

I looked at the Launcher Log and here's what I got from it...

25/06/2012 07:52:07          Starting...
25/06/2012 07:52:07          create update folder: path="C:\Games\World_of_Tanks\Updates"
25/06/2012 07:52:07          create temp update folder: path="\\?\C:\Users\Randy\AppData\Roaming\wargaming.net\wot\temp"
25/06/2012 07:52:07          save configuration: path="C:\Games\World_of_Tanks\WOTLauncher.cfg"

I'm at a loss and pretty close to selling my WoT account so any last ditch ideas would be welcomed!!!

A friend had the same problem.  He said after the update, WOT conflicted with his security software.

I wouldn't mention that part...

But in understand the whole start up problem. Heck just with windows 7 it'll decide to boot me to desktop sometimes after I finish a battle, and when I got into arty mode my FPS drops to 20 now...I get 120 FPS before this part regardless of map. Patch has some serious memory leak issues. Before the patch I've had the game boot me to desktop once...since 7.4-7.4.1 I've gotten kicked at least 20 times.

This patch isn't bad because of the game modes anymore, its terrible because people are having start up problems and 75% more game crashes.

i'll try to look into the Vista problem for you, see if I can help you out.

I feel it has something to do with mods. I played without mods and it worked fine, no crashing on startup. Now with the mods on this happens. I'm not entirely sure but I think the mods somehow make the launcher create a .killme file. I can't find it if it is there, but I'll keep looking!

And now on trying to re-install WoT the crash error still pops up. I am really at a loss here. There is definitely wrong with the 7.4.1 patch. I think I'm going to leave this one to Wargaming, will my premium days get replenished? Probably not. But its good to know those fat paid programmers can put this out, and it also got by the Super Testers. Super my rear end.

And now I try it again, and it starts installing. It has a temper. Much like me.

Before the 7.4 update I would rarely have the game crash to the desktop on map loading. Now it happens like 1 out of ten.

Plus when a match is over. After looking at the achievements tab and heroes. When I click the X at the top right of that window. The game closes.

I'm on Windows Vista 64 12 gigs of ram.

Plus my son is having client crashing at map loading too. Hes on windows 7 with 12 gigs ram.

Well I've come to a solid conclusion it has something to do with the mods I was adding. I haven't installed them and the game has been running fine. I still want to install them, but I'm scared to try.
