Since the release of the new update v7.4, I have been exepriencing low drops in my FPS. Now, I know this is not caused by my hardware as I've been playing this game since beta with no previous FPS issues...until now. I'm wondering if maybe something has been fudged for the nVidia 460 GTX that's causing this lag? I simply don't know but I can say with out a doubt, it is not on my end.

When I zoom into sniper mode, any amount of smoke crossing my line of sight causes lag and my FPS drops ridiculousy. More so when I'm spinning the ass end of my tank around to face my frontal armor towards my target(s) and the smoke from my engines rise into my sights and drops my FPS a lot. About 25-30FPS actually, closely into the single digits at times.

I've ran everything I can think of: lowering the graphics settings below the low standard and toggling settings into the OFF position, updating drivers, ran anti-virus, spyware remover, defraggler, c-cleaner, temp-file cleaner, defragged, etc...everything. Uninstalled WoT and reinstalled the game and udpated to v7.4 . I am currently running the game bare-bones (with out any kind of UI or mods) and still I experience consistent low FPS when smoke enters into my line of sight when zoomed into sniper mood. Also my FPS drops when I'm in vegetation (my FPS never lowered when rolling through the trees & bushes).

I do not know what is causing this video lag. My system specs are sufficient to run this game yet since this latest update, I have been experiencing an annoying amount of low FPS-enough to literally kill me in game. :facepalmic:

Not everyone, I have not had one problem yet. I actually get 20fps more with 7.4 and still have under 100 ping.

At least I am not the only one experiencing negative affects from v7.4 ... too bad it's video lag for me until there is a hot-fix. :Smile-hiding:

I am getting same issues.

Normally I am at 30-50 fps, but when ever I go into sniper mode it goes down to 5-15 fps.  That is with server aim and without.  Turned all settings down to off or low, and still same issue.

7.4 broke a lot of things...le'sigh.

Same goes for me......
I've been checking, monitoring, testing, disabling stuff, de-fragging, virus checking, googling, lowering settings, tearing hair out - but still have massive drops in FPS.
I used to consistently get 20 - 40 FPS before 7.4 arrived.

Now the game starts at 2FPS while the counter is ticking down, increases to between 10-20 FPS, and then varies wildy throughout the game - peaking at about 35FPS, but often dropping to below 10FPS.

Anything under 15FPS is horrible to play, and it puts me off playing at the moment - so hoping for some kind of remedy soon!

Same here, hopefully this issue is revolved soon. I bought a premium account for the next 29 days and I am dissapointed that I can not enjoy the premium benefits to it's full potential right now. Playing this game becomes unbearable at times. :Smile_sad:

I have the same issue seems like the smoke has something to do with the lag some type of rendering issue

I wonder if the minimum PC requirements has now increased with all the extra graphics additions in 7.4 (ie birds, flames, more smoke etc...)?

My setup includes:
2.3GHz quad core CPU (i think the min req is 2.2GHz?)
4GB ram
about 20GB available disk space
NVidia GeForce GTX550 Ti graphics with 1GB memory
Internet download speed is about 14Mbps

I get some lag, and ping is high at 200-300ms
As i posted above, I am regularly getting below 15 FPS which is unplayable.

Can anyone confirm the latest minimum specs?
Thanks

before patch I had like 60-120 fps depending on the map with auto-detect settings....which were all high....now Im lucky to get 10-20 fps with all low settings (shadows off) with only Draw Distance on Medium and x8 anisotropic (I usually use x16) and high textures.

Intel® Core™ i7 CPU    Q 740  @ 1.73GHz (8 CPUs), ~1.7GHz
Win7 64-Bit
ATI Radeon Mobiliy HD 5850 1GB
6gb ram

I recently did a system restore after 7.4 to clean up things (partly due to shitty fps) so its a fresh install and everything....

P.S Im using Milbarges slow PC pack as well (It didnt even seem like it did much) I still get fps in the teens. Changing my graphics settings doesnt seem like it has an effect on fps.

Same here.  My system has always been borderline, averaging about 20-24 fps.  Now when the match is being counted down the fps is in single digits, rising to 20-30fps at start.  When I zoom in to the scope view, fps drops back to single digits.  I tried Millbarges slow PC pack but it had little if any effect on fps when in scope view.

Intel® Core i3 CPU M 370 @ 2.40GHz 2.40 GHz
Win 7 64-Bit
4 GB RAM
Intel® HD Graphics (Yes, I know it sucks.  But it used to get the job done.)

Help!

Before this last patch I was getting 60+ fps. Now like others when loading it starts in the single digits and I am lucky to get 20-26 fps. I know I have changed nothing in my system settings. We really need to fix this. Also....is it me or has the connections gotten worse also ? I use to ping around 60-70 and now it is usually around 100-120. I am on fiber optics and have never pinged so badly in any game.

The low FPS is not consistent. I will average around (depending on the map, what I am doing, where I am at, etc) 45-60FPS. When I zoom in I can reach upwards of 95-115+ FPS. It is only when there is smoke in my field of vision or line of sight that KILLS my FPS rating.

Maybe it is the Smoke Rendering that's causing this. Not necissarily the added features of birds and random things of that nature but what is required to show us the visual affects of now fire and smoke. For some reason, the smoke appears to be a lot more dense than it was before. If this is something that is going to be graphics intensive, it should at least be an option in the settings that allows players to lower it or toggle smoke affects OFF all toghether. Otherwise, I'd say this patch needs a Hot-Fix ASAP!

Well, Millbarges pack worked for me well (+5 to 10 FPS) it is really too bad that the guy decided to delete threads with these packs... Especially that I have just reinstalled woT and had been searching for these packs. As far as forum search goes, he had just gone angry. Anyway, i'm an EU player, decided to register on NA forum, because thought that the message:
[#103137] You do not have permission to view this topic.
means that only registred users can view topic. No. Topic deleted, even mediafire link from google cache is not working. Will have to return to the damn WoT Tweaker, which worked far worse for me.
I know, I kwno "cool story bro", but I can't reply in this topic:

everyone i have talked to about this issue has the same problem with low FPS and i as well have it to and it seems that WOT devs are not listening to us or if they were they would have fixed this by now as it is causing many in my clan and other clans to simply play other games
