Which to get? Also, please don't tell me to wait for the Super Pershing. I am getting that as well. I just need lots of tier 8 premiums, because I am trying to get to the Foch as quick as possible.
(I do not want the Lowe.)
JT88 or IS-6?

IS-6, people complain about the gun, but I grinded through the IS3 with it to rush to the IS4... I gotta be honest and I wasted my gold on the JT-88 and sold it, not sure if it sucked, or if I sucked in it....

Actually i have the JT88, it's just how you employ it and use it.
If you play it like a bigger slower JgPanther with the long 88 which by the way is the same gun on the JT88, you can do awesome things.
Try to play it like a normal JT, or like a heavy prepare to have your ass handed to you.
I do want to get the IS-6 btw, have an IS crew to change over to an IS-3 and grind the credits to get said IS-3.
But yeah i have a JT88 and i can do awesome with it cause a gain i play it like my JgPanther with the Long88 just slower and more HP.

is6 has a terrible gun and not so good armor, on the other hand the jt 8.8 high fire rate and decent armor

KV5, It gets superior MM, cheaper and has a really good gun (if you're not an idiot and know how to use a kinda lowish pen gun)

You sold a near 40 dollar premium tank, I never liked my KV-5 but i'm not selling it, what a waste of money.
It is actually more like 34 dollars. I got a good 193 battles in it, and sold it once I got my Type 59. I realized how much of a lumbering pile of crap it was.

The JT8.8 has the gun with more pen, but less flexibility in using it (no turret) and it's armour is situationally better, and much worse, than the IS-6. If it can hull down, great - if it can't, everyone shoots the obvious lower hull weakspot. The side armour is also relatively weak, and fairly flat.
The IS-6 has the weaker gun, offset by the turret and by being a smaller and bouncier target. The hull armour value may seem low, but it does bounce a surprising amount of rounds from front and sides, with angling and decent luck. It can't really handle tier 9/10's well, if at all, but that's to be expected, I think.
As for earnings, I would probably give the nod to the JT8.8, if only for the gun - faster ROF, more pen should hopefully equal more damage done, and the cheaper (much cheaper) ammo cost will more than offset the number of rounds used.
All that said, I have done so much better with the IS-6 that I almost find it hard to believe its the same tank as the one being vilified in some threads. It just seems to have a chance to do that bit more in the game, more often, than the JT8.8 when I've played them.
YMMV, of course.

As someone who owns multiple tier 8s, where would you ranks the ones you own? I have a T34 myself, but am wondering if I should spend some money on the Super Pershing when it comes out, or hold out for the Type 59 whenever it gets released.
In regards to the main question, from what I've seen and heard from people who I platoon with, the IS-6 is a bouncy tank. It gets the same matchmaking as the Lowe, so you won't be put into a lot of tier 10 matches like the T34. Since you've owned the KV-5, the gun on the IS-6 will be very similary except gets a good boost in damage and some pen( its just an extra 10 or so) in exchange for accuracy, aim time (3.4 is pretty bad) and rate of fire (5.13 rpm). Is it worth the price (11800 I think?) I don't know, thats a bit steep and I'd want at least 200 pen on the gun in exchange for lower alpha.
Just so you know though, the JT88 gets the same MM as the IS-6. It's a good tank when you really take a nice long look at it, but I don't think it's worth the gold.

If you sold the Type 59, then the IS-6 already looks like a bad choice. Its basically a fatter version with meh turret armor, considering I've seen a T29 pummel through it right beside the tiny mantlet.
Mobility is also kinda meh, and its got the 122mm with exactly the same pen.
I recommend you -not- get the IS-6.

Honestly, I would say wait for the Super Pershing. The Type 59 is a good medium, though.

Get the IS-6. Yes I've killed the only one I've seen in the past hundred+ games, but its armor seemed fairly effective, lower glacis aside.
And I want new looking enemies to shoot! The JT's profile and weaknesses are already well known.

I'd recommend the Jg 88. The IS-6 is a respectable tank in the hands of someone experienced using the IS and the IS-3 pre BL-9, but you'll have a much easier time playing the 88 if you're familiar with TDs as a whole.

In the end, I bought the IS-6. Overall, I am satisfied with the tank, however, 8,000 gold seems like a more reasonable price, for what you pay for.
An IS-4 like tier 8 with a 175 pen gun, that gets in tier 10 matches.
Other than that, I love the tank.
