Despite that, i have to thanks to WG staff for select my Iron Argie in the final list and all the people who voted me, from my clan off course, but there where many people sendimg me MP saying "congrats will vote for you" and there where from others clans.
Im very happy that some people liked my work, ignoring the crap paint i did in 3 hours with syntetic ordinary paint (wich is not latex... for thoose who dont know what it is, i with you paint metals).
Thank you all and congrats to the other winners.

The model looked mediocre at best. It looked like the paint was taken off with sand-paper or a sand-blaster, repainted and then his clan farmed votes for him. Really, I think the 2nd place model should've won, and it's dishonorable to farm votes from either friends, or clanmates. -1 to ACA
. Just because it wasn't made of plastic or paper, doesn't make it anything special. I have a die-cast model of a King Tiger, could sand-paper it, repaint it to look like a Christmas camouflage, and ask my clan to give me votes to win.
EDIT: If someone can show me photos of this person shaping the metal, then I will change my opinion

In part, that thread is why so many people out of my clan voted me, a good public campaign.

As per usual, the people who take the easy way in are the ones who come out on top, the philosiphy of this game.
Buy a model, paint it, recieve $200 in game cash, leaving everyone who actually built models from the ground up to stare at the prettily painted models.
Not bashing the winners but the contest was "tank model building contest", not "spend $20 on a pre-fabricated model and paint it", I saw a few entries built from scratch, things that took much more skill than the paintjob alone that earned my vote.
Congrats to argentvs, who won the contest with sheer skill.

Alot of steel work went into that tank, but a painter you are not.
Great work on maken the tank out of steel and winning. I may add the work alone would cost more than the gold you getting. Sense you won I would sand blast it and paint it a olive dab or bluesh/Gray for german colors. beleave me you earned the position just in figureing out the detail plans to weld the parts together......CHEERS
PS: I'm glad they showed the whole nine yards of the build, now I'm sure more will agree, yes the other where nice looking well made tanks, but a kit is day and night from what you did.
BTW: Here is the one I built back in 1986 from no plns at all not even drawn out one just by eye sight. Name 'THE TANK"

ARGENTVS, for the love of god, now that you have time, give that thing a decient paint job, even if it's just an overall Panzer Grey.

Hte big problem there is that i dont know anything of detail paint, i just paint big truck boxes or fuel tanks. I have no idea how to paint even at 10% of the good looking paint the the other modells. I dont know neither what kind of paint you need for that and how to aply it.
Better i can do is get this paint old, give it dust, and use a protect lay to dark it.

Ak73 's looks simply amazing. On the first look from the WOT website, I couldn't distinguish between the real one and the in game one. That Tiger though was mediocre at best, not as detail as some of the other ones.

As usual, I think #2 should have won it. It looks exactly like the in-game model. Nice job everyone !
EDIT: The paint for the winner's model looks very bright and tacky. Also, anyone notice that [ACA] has 100 members, and exactly 99 voted for the winner? (Not wanting to make anything negative, just pointing it out) My favorite is the Hetzer by Seras_Victor. The camouflage looks spot on as it looks in game, and it's a Hetzerâ„¢ come on that thing is a trademark symbol of World of Tanks.

He had to paint it or he wouldn't be legible to submit his masterpiece sadly. And if you look at the KT b4 the paint, it looks absolutely amazing. Custom built (not from a kit), all metal, welded together, perfect scale. He is the true modeler there. That's is why he got 99 votes, because people saw his previous metal model and believed he fully deserved 1st place. Also keep in mind it is not easy to paint on metal as it is on plastic. And since he doesn't seem to have any painting skills (no offense), the finished quality is quite good, only not as awesome as b4 the paint. If WG didn't require paint, you would see his tank differently. Well, gj everyone

I was confused when I first saw the vote page with ARGENTVS's KT on top position, but after reading how the model was made... I think he deserves the first place.
Pity that it couldn't have a nice skin on it for satisfy anyone who doesn't know how it was made.

Congrats ARGENTVS.
psdt for haters: 100% handmade king tiger of steel (with bad paintjob XD) > all.

Congrats to the winners and everyone who took the time to enter.
Hopefully they disable the negative post option for the voting next time.
Also, no matter if a person built a model from scratch or from a kit, they still did a great job. Some people don't have access to kits and some don't have access to materials to make models from scratch. Both varieties take skill to produce.
Again, congrats.
All the best,
Jake

I appreciate the effort that went into first place but it is not a good looking model by any stretch of the imagination.
This is why these competitions should actually be judged by proper impartial model experts and not devolved into a popularity contest. Anybody from a large clan has the most chance of winning purely because they will get loyalty votes even if their entry isn't that great.

number 1 is quite a disgrace... number 2 and number 5 are awesome. Number 2's weathering is the best among them and number 5 did excellent job of using Schmalturm while still exhibiting good quality...
