Well, I have sent 2 PMs to Br2yd4l asking him to send us the source files and have not heard back from him. So, we can safely assume this mod is now abandoned. I was hoping someone with a little skill would take up this mod and update it. I am just not skilled enough to do it.

I hope my mod can fill in until Br2ydl gets back, its the same concept, but uses tank images and also uses the same color scheme as requested by the members.

I had seen your icon mod Druid. While it is similar it is still a little too busy for me. I use option B for Br2yd4l's mod which is just the tank name and tier is colored by type. No tank icon. Your icons are very similar to type A of Br2yd4l's icon set and are definitely a good replacement for them.

Thanks for posting in this thread to show people there are alternatives. I still hope someone steps up and takes on version B and version C of this mod though.

Imho Druid's mod has too much color, I prefer the muted colors of br2yd4l's. But that's just my opinion.

Well, it does look that way from what is posted on the forums. That said, I haven't actually tried out his mod yet in-game. I guess I should do that before I further comment on it.

NOTE: The following is all MY opinion and you should check it out for yourself and not just take my word for it.

Ok, after trying out Druid's icon mod I found that it is probably the next best icon mod for me after Br2yd4l's Version B. That said I did find the colors to be too bright. They were distracting when trying to look at the list and identify tanks. The other thing that was jarring to my eye was the font. I am not sure if it was too small due to having the tank in the icon as well or just that particular font, but I had trouble reading it. The tier marking was fine. Overall my impression is that I like the colored text much better than a colored icon background. The more muted colors from Br2yd4l's is more to my liking.

All that said, if Br2yd4l's isn't updated by the next major patch when they are releasing 6 or 8 new vehicles then I will have to switch to a icon set that is being actively maintained. Right now Druid's looks to be the best alternative to Br2yd4l's.

A few pages back he listed the steps he took to make version A's icons. I personally prefer version B so if anyone could contact him about those they could fill in the missing icons. Right now there are only two tanks with missing icons, it shouldn't be too difficult a task for someone with image editing experience.

I have sent him 2 PMs so far and he hasn't responded to either. So, I am pretty sure we aren't going to get any support from him.

I also like version B the best. I was hoping someone with skillz would have stepped up by now.....

In this post Br2yd4l explains what he did in Photoshop to make the icons for Version A. Version B should be easier since there is no tank Icon. Same for Version C. I will continue trying to see if I can get the PSD file from him for the icon packs. Until then I assume someone with some Photoshop skillz can fix the 4 new premium tanks and tide us over.

Alright, so I hacked and slashed some up for Icon pack B.
Apart from Pz II J and BT-SV, I think that's it.
Make sure you have the pack itself, this is just a patch.

The additions look good. How long did it take you to make the alterations and did you use Photoshop?

Roughly an hour without a mouse on my laptop, with Photoshop CS5.
The problem was I didn't know what was used to style the text. =\

There a full icon mod installation based on Brzydal's B version (not just a patch):

CleanIconMod-v.0.6.3.11-LargeText.zip

- mod renamed to CleanIconMod sincle Brzyda's not active anymore.
- RKazza's patch included

I will try to make all PSD files from the scratch, soon to be updated. Will make a new topic for it later too.

I have read this thread intensively, I know you all want a minimal icon mod and I have seen Aslain take this into account, I will make my icons more transparent and the font easier to read, but as for a minimal version B icon mod I look to Aslain to complete that task, I am working with Aslain to assist him in whatever he needs to get this job done.

Been working last two days on it, at this moment got .pds files working, with proper style and all, so it's matter of time and will release full version. Probably will make A, and B (more saturated icons, and less saturated icons).

Went ahead and released a new version, more transparency better font, and of course the colors have been drowned out, too many complaints about it being to bright.

Druid Icon Mod NEW VERSION 1.132!

The new version 1.132 is available, clearer font, better transparency, dimmed colors, and tier roman numerals changed to numbers for clarity!

Druid, thank you for the work on a muted version. Unfortunately the download link doesn't work. The link in your main thread does work though.

Aslain, thank you for the continuation of Br2yd4l's mod and the new thread.
