The other way around works as well.  I frequently use the XVM mod to tell me which of the enemy is the larger threat that needs to be neutralized first.

The complaint, which is a good one, IMHO, is with the abusers...not XVM.

sounds like a useful arty tool

Frankly i have a 48% win ratio and i could give a damn if you have it installed or not.

Now if you're going to go by the battle predictor and rage quit, then you're an asshat and should just uninstall the game regardless of your win record.

If you're going to trust a HIGHLY inaccurate POS predictor like it's direct quote from god on how the battle is going to turn out, GTFO.

Now if you're going to use it for deciding threat levels, who to trust and who not to trust, more power to you.

It seems as though WG is considering making an option for hiding ones stats from public viewing, which I believe would be the best approach to this.  Those that use their XVM mod can continue to do so, those who really could care less about their stats will have the option to keep them to themselves.

It probably will not stop those inclined to harass other players, but it will take away any stat related fuel they could use to do so.  And to those who say, 'players will get harassed because they choose to hide their stats' well there are rules against this already in place, so nothing really changes.

TBH i like to see the stats of good players, It helps me learn where to go, helps me find hiding spots (TD's) and or sniping spots. I also use it to watch myself get better.

No reason to allow this bullshit mod, It's used the majority of the time to harass new players.

Most people who use it do not use it to give anyone a hard time. Sorry but you are wrong.

It's a worthless mod that makes battles worse than they really are.  I've seen people quit because of a low chance of winning.  Let me tell y'all something.  I don't run the mod but I do run with someone that does and he always states win probability at the start of the battle. We typically win when we have about a 20% or less chance of winning and when it practically guarantees a win, we usually lose.  It also feeds people's misplaced trust in stats, making the game worse for everyone.  Personally, I think WG should do away with the team based stats (win ratio, etc.) and only display individual player stats (hit ratio, damage, etc.).  That would make the game better for everyone.

How would it make it better? We already know your hit ratio and damage(6000 battles and less than 300 damage per battle, not good.) and its not hard to see that such stats would lead to a lower win %. Your individual stats are clear.

so does it give the win rate and efficiancy stats over all or just the stats for that tank?
if its the overall win rate stats i dont think thay gives you as much of an idea as if the stats were for the particular tank

Someone has successfully modded it to show individual tank win and x's played on said tank, but the base mod does not. There is a thread for it somewhere.

You are completely wrong - I don't think you really know what you are talking about.
Very few people leave a battle because of what XVM mod says, I've seen way more people leave for other reasons and I'm sure more people used to rage quit the battle back before the XVM mod existed.
People get picked on for all sorts of reasons, since well before the XVM mod existed.  I've seen people picked on that wouldn't have been if the jerk had XVM installed.
Sure some people don't try, but those with the XVM mod are rarely those people.

And there are many reasons to allow this mod.
I can guarantee that it is NOT used the majority of the time to harass new players, in fact the majority of the time you are not even aware that the player has the XVM mod.  I know I very rarely give any indication at all to anyone on either team that I have XVM running.

Here is a more clued up & sensible player!
I have the XVM mod installed and I don't really care if your win rate is only 48%, that is around average and I'm sure you have plenty of good battles.
You are right about the predictor being inaccurate, I've won ~20% win prediction battles and even been on a team that lost despite XVM suggesting a 95% chance of winning.  I ALWAYS take the prediction with a grain of salt!  I suspect that all XVM users learn the same thing!

The people that install XVM are people that care about statistics, they are more likely to want to improve their own efficiency & win rate.  That means that they are LESS likely to rage quit!

Some people just don't understand the benefits of running XVM, such as:
- Clan recruiters can see which players are worth recruiting.  I am a recruiter for ADD and have frequent contact with ADR (our sister clan) recruiters - I look out for likely prospects for either clan.
- After you die in battle you can follow other players, XVM tells you the best players to try to learn from. Some that you can learn what to do from and others that you can learn what NOT to do from.
- XVM lets you prioritise targets to help your team more to get the win.
- XVM lets you know which of your team mates to be wary of, you don't want to rely to heavily on the low win rate & efficiency player!  You may see that they will need more help from you if you don't want a flank to collapse or you may see that you will have to go help them to reset the cap because there is a high chance they will fail alone.
- XVM lets you know what battles are theoretically 50/50 - which you should take as a warning that what you do is more likely than normal to make the difference between winning & losing.

Do we get paid GOLD for having good stats? Is there some perk I dont know about for good stats? Once theres a reason I will care about mine but until then I am just having fun taking dumb risks LOL!

Except that it is least useful and accurate with new players and used mostly to tell the older players who refuse to learn to shut their mouths in game.

You know...you should actually learn a little about the topic at hand before commenting on it.

Thanks for shitting up the game. No really, I love it when the top tier on my team is an idiot and costs us the match. That's exactly what I want when I'm trying to enjoy myself when playing a game, having my experience ruined by idiots like you.

Banning XVM because some people use it to troll is like outlawing hammers because some people have used them as murder weapons. Blame the trolls, not the tool.

To quote Han Solo: "never tell me the odds".

I've been on the side where xvm said we had a 38% chance of winning and won anyway and vice versa.
