US Tank profitability to high....

eggplant84's Photo eggplant84 Jul 13 2012

Taken from the preliminary patch notes:

"Some of the US Tier 6-7 medium tanks are much better situated when compared with their counterparts from other nations. For example, the Sherman Jumbo and M4A3E8 Sherman have a very low repair cost and a fairly high profit potential. This allows them to often finish matches with a greater net gain of credits than VK 3601. We wanted to correct this imbalance."

So you screw us over from one of the best non-premium money makers? Did you ever really stop think about why this exist?

E8/E2 VS Anything German...

1. It's cheaper for starters, because our guns are nothing compared to a 3601, hell even the PZ IV's 75mm would be a better gun than anything these two tanks have. Yea they have a high rof, and decent pen, but a short 88, or long 75, is a hell of alot more useful, than any 76/105 mini-derp these tanks get.

2. Smaller guns generally means cheaper ammo, it's not depleted uranium ya' know?

3."For example, the Sherman Jumbo and M4A3E8 Sherman have a very low repair cost and a fairly high profit potential. This allows them to often finish matches with a greater net gain of credits than VK 3601. We wanted to correct this imbalance." Yea, not playing your *** off with some guns that have had the same penetration for the last two tiers, against a bunch of tier 7's, 8's, and 9's. It's not a tank you can just run out there an die in to make a crap load of credits, skill is involved, well was, who the hell is gonna wanna play these ***-heaps now?

4. Who the *** really wants to play the German line? I mean c'mon lets be honest here devs, the best you can do with all the *** coming out like tier 10 meds/tds is to give the *** MAUS 200 more HP? Really? I'm gonna buy one tommorow, that way the fire started by the shot put through the front plate, that for some reason burns the damn engine in the back, can last that much longer! Why the hell would I want an E-100 over an IS4/IS7/T110? Trust me when I say this WoT, we, being the server populations aren't the ones who have anything against the German tank lines...I'm quite certain the same can't be said for you all however.

5. "We wanted to correct this imbalance." ...See line 4, but again...you don't really wanna fix that problem, or you would have a long time ago.

Yeah I have to say that's kinda ***, but the devs are probably getting their credit profitability from the Russian Server over US/EU. Even though RU servers rush in and die a lot...

I kinda like the 200 extra health wished they gave us that before the TIER 10 Mediums and TDs though. >.>

LOL! I got an M4A3E8 not too long ago to skip over to the US TD line. I immediately put on the rammer, layer, and vert stabilizer for equipment. First thing I noticed about it, my T-28 and KV-1 make better credits than the E8. Second thing I noticed about it, the M1A2 hits like a 4 year old girl. The only way I could tolerate it was with the derp 105mm on it, and even then, I sold it as soon as I got the M36 unlocked.
Bought it back and played it again during the double cred event for it. Found that 95% of the time, after the battle, my reaction to how much credits it made was something like this; "Oh, all that work for that much cred? Really? This is doubled?" Sold it again, as soon as that event was over.
I don't know why people are impressed with the E8, I can't find one thing I like about it. As far as I'm concerned though, it definately did NOT need a nerf in credit gains.
I'm noticing more and more that I make less and less credits with each patch. Looks like WG.$$$ is trying to make WoT impossible to get ahead without buying a premium account. And to that, I say F you, I will never put a dime into this game, you honestly don't deserve it.

You must like shooting enemies frontally rather than actually flanking.....

When it comes to flanking the E8 has everything that matters for mediums. Good acceleration, good HP pool, good aim time (Vert Stab is hax,) good gun depression, low gun dispersion, and high DPM. Penetration just determines how flat their side/rear armor have to be for a pen. It is not the most important stat to look at when flanking. Neither is Alpha, but that's another argument.

Well then, I guess I picked a good time to try to aim for the PzIV and the VK3601. Shame to see some of the most profitable vehicles in the game (the American medium line) get the nerfbat for their main strength.

One thing your not taking into account is the new MM that is being implemented no more fighting the tier 9 tanks.

The fact of the matter is, more penetrating hits, more moolah to call your own. Tier 9s, yeah, good luck penning hem, even on the sides. The new MM spread will make it so that tanks like the jumbo will be feared again, and with only Tier 7 heavies and the occasional tier 8 heavy (hopefully by the time 7.5 rolls around they would do that) the m1a2 can pen almost any tank below tier 9 if hit in the right spot on the front. if you know ehre to aim.
