Maybe this has been asked before, but I couldn't find anything when I searched.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew why there are such restrictions on crew retraining. I was able to retrain my kv-1 crew for the kv-1s, but I will not be able train them into my IS when I get it. I can train a crew up one tier, but no further. The only exceptions I found were for retraining into premium tanks, but my understanding is that you can use any crew for premiums as long as they are the same nation and the same class (ie. heavy/heavy, med/med etc..). I noticed the same trend on all of my tanks. Is there a reason for this?

only restriction is nation, no tier things. my pershing is using my m4 shermans crew.

It wont show up to retrain to an upper tier tank until you have it researched.

Yeah i agree with presstech. I don't think you have that tank researched yet.
