Internet connection comes and goes

Hi, ever since yesterday, I've been having internet connection issues. The connection keeps going on and off, and it's seriously hampering my ability to play the game. If you want any details, here's my setup: I get cable internet, which runs through a modem that's connected to a NetGear WGT624 V4 wireless router, which also has wires running to our family's desktop machines. However, there's also some sort of Linksys router in one of my brothers' rooms.
Anyways, although the wired connection is flip-floppy, I can still get wireless internet, but the signal strength isn't the greatest even when the wired part was still going. I've tried everything I can think of, such as powering down the modem and router for a minute and repowering, connecting my ethernet cable directly to the modem, unplugging the Linksys router (which has been troublesome sometimes, but not like this) from the equation, even calling my ISP's tech support line for help, basically, everything I can think of short of getting a technician in. Nothing worked!
I also tried to download and play this game on my laptop, but that's infeasible because when I tried playing, the game ran slowly and didn't render the friggin' ground!
Can anyone else please help? I am close to taking one or more of my internet components and shooting them with a shotgun!

Talk to your ISP, they can run a line test and talk you thru finding out where the week spot is.

Yup call a technician from ISP. There might be some repair work going on in your area. Happens to me time to time but once the work is done, it comes back to normal. OR you might need to buy a new router + modem. Yours might just be malfunctioning.

Well, tech support did run a line test yesterday, and they also suspected a router issue. Also, we did have a brief power outage, so I'm wondering if that has any bearing because none of my problems happened before then.

I'm a rookie, just starting playing the game. Also, not the most computer savvy person. I have a Compaq Presario desktop pc SR5030NX, with an intel Pentium 4 processor, 1024MB Memory, 160GB Hard Drive. Windows Vista for an operating system.
I seem to have downloaded the game ok, but am having the following problems:
Screen freezes, Task Manager tells me W.o.T.Client Not Responding.
The game starts and my tank won't move, can't turn the turret, and eventually get blasted because I'm a sitting duck.
Get a message saying I have become disconnected, have to click the Connect button and start all over.
When the screen freezes, in Task Manager I click End Task, but still have a blank white screen with W.o.T.Client Not Responding in the upper left corner. Have to restart my computer to get rid of this white screen.
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
