I wish I had submitted a question, I really wanted to ask Mr.Doyle about the E-50's transmissions and the E-100's frontal armour to lay all the conspiracy theories to rest.

I too am having issues with the screen going black.  The biggest lacuna is at the 1:57:55 mark.

I am also having this problem. There appears to be stretches of video with only black video and no audio.

I am curious as to why they thought the Panther qualified as the first MBT, but not the T-34. The Russian tank seems to have all the requisite qualities: good balance between mobility, firepower, and armor, ease of construction, strategic mobility, and it was pressed into a great number of combat roles.

Did they overlook this, or do they perhaps think the shortcomings of the T-34 hamper its ability to be well-coordinated?

MBT is not just some tank stats. MBT paradigma says "replace medium and heavy tanks with 1 tank". Panther and T-34 wasn't replacement for heavy tanks (IS-2,3,4, etc and KT).
But! There is 1 tank, that was planned to use instead both medium and heavy tank. It was KV-13 :Smile_Default:

I believe they said that because for all intents and purposes, the Panther was superior to the Tiger in every respect: Better frontal armour, better speed, lower weight, better or equivalent gun and FAR cheaper to manufacture.

No one would believe the T-34 could out preform an IS-2 for example. It was a true "medium" tank.

It's an interesting question, and why I was surprised at the answer. I had personally always considered Centurion to be the first MBT.

Same here, considering I always thought the Centurion was the furst tank that the designers wanted to "do everything". Wonder what the logic for the Panther is.

ZOMG awesome! not sure how I missed it.

loved the 2nd part of the panel btw.

I too had a few blank spots in the video. it didnt seem like i missed any of the discussion though. Maybe the encoding went wonky or something. Oh well, personally I'm not worried about it.

All tho i enjoy this stuff a LOT.. and find it very informative. (props for that).

I will like to add that its VERY hard/enoying to find the latest one each time, + find out how the morning/afternoon thing works, since it seems that its extremely random.

i usually get the 1st morning (3rd august) and number ?? afternoon (25th august) clips, no matter what i do,

I cant seem to get them in any usefull order, and i have to always make a lot of efford to find the latest one, witch means i got no clue if i missed any, since theres not all of them in a list, or anything.

Like my point is, PLZ ohh PLZ make this easyer to go to, and to single out the episode we wanna watch.
It must be posible to opload/put in , in diff episodes so that its easyer to find/more accurate and so on.

Anyways keep up the good work cheiftan.

Also .. can u plz do a europe tour in what kind of tanks/equipment the diff countrys had. I only know very little about WW2 reguarding to how my country was captured, but i know as much as we had no chance and gave up within 24hours, i live right above Germanny in Denmark.

Just finished watching the 2nd extended one. First thing I will say is I hope you do it again :Smile_Default: Was great to listen to all the experts talk though the various questions. Maybe do the next one in Puckapunyal  :Smile_veryhappy:

There were a couple of editing glitches from about 2/3 of the way through.

It was an intersting program, could of gone on for hours longer...

Though one thing I would liked to have seen was a discution on common myths and their correction and or clarification of.

I got around to watching this the other day and really appreciate the time and energy (and no doubt funds) that went into getting all these guys together in one place - and what a place for it. Shame Jacques couldn't be there as well.

I really hope more things like this happen in the future - Wargaming are doing a lot more about getting gamers actually interested in history than most developers. When I heard about the funding going towards digging up those buried Spit XIVs I felt a lot better about the number of times I've victimised my ailing wallet for this game.
