'S' key means you are moving slower than the guy hitting the 'W' key  though . . .
Yes, but like most aggressive players in the forefront, S will still mean the enemy has a longer distance to go til he can brawl with you. Like Lert says, it brings them into arty range (at lower tiers, my GwPanther can reach out and touch someone), range of the snipers who are behind the line, and maybe even that KV-5 that's hiding....I mean protecting arty, while still keeping your thickest armor toward him. More guns trained on your attacker, more chance you're going to live.

Like, it took me until about 3 days ago to realise that you need 9 spots and the win for scout badge, I thought it was 8 spots and the win.

There is always more to learn, the sooner people understand that the better.

Personally, I think the 'W' key is my biggest enemy :)

But rather than go in reverse, turn and run! You can hardly jink while reversing.

Or as a RL tanker said to me 'never move until you know where you're going'. Ie; where's the next cover.

Done that before. The risk is that the tank catches up/comes around the corner/the enemy tank you didn't know was there now has a shot at your hind end and that is a bad thing.

I stopped playing to come over here and say thanks.
How the heck could I not know I was way too agressive.
Perhaps there are onther areas in real life I could improve.
Guess I am too old and have the Mike Tyson syndrom,
Anyway thanks a lot for this thread, it really helped my game.

Some battles I spend more time driving backwards than forwards on a bad team, especially with a TD. Learning to turn though was a bit of a challenge as it is the opposite while going backwards. But once you get the hang of it, you can really hold up a enemy advance for while if they are not brave enough to bum rush you and eat a kill. I have kept 4 or 5 enemy tanks at bay for a couple of mins till one moves around to flank me from behind.

While we are on the topic of real men; why is it most of the time tankers all scramble off as soon as the timer hits zero and never wait for the first scout reports to come in? Time after time the scouts are side by side heavies and not ahead enough to give a battle situation report. Then most pig pile on the wrong side, get flanked, and die. Wait a second, let the scout do their job for the arty and heavies, then move to where you are needed. Save the mad scramble for lower levels and the pointless driving to get to where you should have been in the first place.

Usually when I'm top tier heavy or TD I'll wait a few moments to see where everyone is going, just for that reason, sig.

Pfffftttt..  Lert, the S key is for sissies.  I only use the r key.  3rd gear ftw!

Here is another Posted Image For you Lert.  Your Posts are always entertaining and informative.

Hell, here is one for Panzerabuser because his signature made me laugh.

Keys that real men do not use:

S key-- real men don't turn back, the S is for SISSY.

? key-- no need to ask questions, real men just DO.

The F2-F7 hotkeys-- who needs directions when you can roll that flank like a BAWS?

Consumable hotkeys (1-3)-- repairs? Ha. REAL men go on no matter what.

The minimap-- No need to look for your allies, you can take on that Maus platoon yourself.

And you know the product of a person who doesn't use any of the things listed above... a blubbering, 45% W/L burning wreck.
