That doesn't seem very fair. A loltraktor cant pen a Maus or E100. Better off protecting base in a Tier 1. Anyone know when Type 59 is coming back?

Teir 1 tanks can be used to great success in high level matches.   You have to redefine what success means to you...If it is destroying another tank only.....  Your doing it wrong.

Most teams will be high tier tanks ,mid tier arty and low tier scouts.

If anyone is looking for a well-equipped Tier 2 scout (M2 LT, spec'd for camo & sight range), lemme know.

Can you expand on 'one tank of each tier'? Namely can we bring tank destroyers and artillery?

This expansion of team size without an expansion in reserve size is getting ridiculous.  For a 10 player team their should be ~5 reserve slots.  Some people have lives and can't play every night straight for a week.

The norm for competition teams is take the playing team size and add half again that size for the roster size and reserve slots.  These WOT skirmishes are well under that lately.

The only 3 alternates is not only difficult because with larger team size it is a smaller percentage of team but the way this rule is written if you don't have 10 people with the correct teirs online you lose. In other skirmishes you could play short handed (I won a game 3 on 7 in one of the skirmishes). If you don't want to increase team size then at least change the rule to something like "maximum 1 tank of each tier". You could also say must field a tier 1 and a tier 2 tank which would be similar to tournaments where the total points available go down if don't field full team.

The other question about TDs and arty has been answered mulitple times in other skirmishes, those are "tanks" in World of Tanks.

In this case teams must field the full 10 in each battle, this is why there are more than 10 team members allowed. We understand that not everyone may be able to show each night, so we allow subs, as in all tournaments.

Not sure you are understanding. When you have 8 players on a team in a 5v5 tournament half the team could not show up and you could still field 4 tanks in the battle. I gave an example in a 7v7 tournament where we had only 3 people available for the first battle. The next 2 battles we had a full team they were just late getting on. You need more subs when you REQUIRE a full 10 people to be in battle. If you don't want more subs then modify the rules so don't need full team to not be disqualified. Rule modification is not hard. Looks like sign up rate for this skirmish is less than most skirmishes so being accommodating would be good.

I completely understand, however that is not the case in this tournament. There are still subs, so it shouldn't be an issue to field all 10 team members. However, due to the concern I have modified the rules to allow teams with fewer players to not be disqualified automatically.

Thanks for the change. Gained at least one team, mine, as a result.

I am trying to figure out the low team counts in some of the skirmishes. I understood the tier X and all arty skirmishes not being full because of the tanks. I do not know why recent skirmish with tier 8s was not full. I bet when Ural Steel was announced after with the same format some teams wished they had gotten in some practice.

My best guess with this tournament is teams felt busy with Ural Steel. Looking over the lineup I see less top teams with only a few previous in the money finishers. More teams that have not made it to later rounds in the skirmishes should have taken advantage of this and signed up.

Tournament bracket page says 8/13/2012 is the first round. Skirmish page says first round is 8/6/2012. Which one do we go by?

My team was also wondering about this. Seems we got a bye to the second round, but it gets a bit confusing on the team page after that.
Edit: Seems to be cleared up now, thanks lord_farquad.

For future reference, if the bracket says something different than the schedule, it is probably a scheduling error, which means the brackets are wrong. If that happens please let me know so I can fix the times (and thank you to those who did PM me!).
