Only managed a first class badge and a Bohlter's medal on first battle. M68 is a pretty consistent gun. I disliked doing 226 low damages on the M46, and this gun just makes up for some of that stress.

with the m46 being my most played tank this one picks up where it left off and just goes, probably my new favorite tank.... sooo much fun!

Pretty big fan. Haven't had the luck with teams that some have had here. I'm at 5 wins out of 8 battles, so about 62% win rate, which is still good considering. Got sharpshooter, sniper, and master gunner along the way. Master class II as well.
Using Ram, Vent, and Stabilizer. 100% Crew, 100% BIA. Then I have snap shot, smooth ride, recon and situational awareness. Not sure if I have the ideal set up or not, but it's working so far.

Just bought it, played about 5 rounds with it. nice Accuracy on the move- doesn't make up for being the (even slower) slowest "Medium" in the match with the bubble profile and no armor. The M46 Patton was the best T9 Med because it had the gun, and the armor wasn't as big of an issue because it had a squat profile.. The M48 Feels like a T54 looking in a fun-mirror with no armor.
110mm frontal hull.. you'd have to be tier 5 or below not to pen that.
178mm Turret armor, so.. Tier 7.. and there is NO bouncing off that water-tower...
I feel like Fred Phelps in that tank.. nobody will miss me, nobody CAN miss me. 45 kph with the largest profile of even the heavy tanks?
First American Medium I've genuinely hated. The gun does NOT make up for being the easiest target of the "mobile" forces..

Lol, so who sees a mass nerf coming to the M48 next patch, just like every other US Tank that performs well?

I'm using vert stab, vent and rammer for my M48. I'm tempted to either switch vert stab or vent for coated optics but I figured that 420m view range is sufficient enough (and I'm training my third commander skill for recon,so I should pretty much be bordering spot range cap) for ranged engagement.
Frankly I don't want to see any nerfs on the M48, or at least anything drastic. It is a pretty solid tank, but the armor and profile of the tank are pretty much it's biggest weaknesses, with only it's gun making up for that shortfall.

Definitely. With the Tier 9/M46 nerfs and the arrival of more heavier contenders in the medium and TD camp and the changed MM, the M46 will lose it's dominance as a high DPSer and be force-pressed into more fodder-like roles. The M48 will be more expensive, granted, but the stats and the performance of it is definitely worth the price and work put into it in my opinion.
The M46's nerf isn't as bad as you think. It can still fire on the run very well. Can't make 400m shots like it used to. 200-275m still works well enough. 350+m at half-speed is still viable.

So basically, the original thoughts for the T30 then. Tier 7 hull, Tier 12 gun.

Doing horribly in the M48 - but not a bad tank from the way it feels. I should start climbing back up on the win rate ladder as i get more used to new tier 10 metagame

I'm not saying the M46 is terrible now, moreso that it will be more hard-pressed, and generally have a harder time now since it faces a much broader crowd of high tiers in due to the overhaul in matchmaking coupled with rebalanced stats, relinquishing the top damage-dealer position for the middle position. Personally I feel the M48 is an improvement over the M46 and is a better competitor, but that's my opinion.
And you could say that, except the M48 has a tumor hitbox ontop of the turret and the turret itself isn't that solid.

Overall impressions.
This is an awesome tank, an upgrade to the Patton. Some downsides:
Seems like less turret depression.
Tumor on turret, turret itself is less bouncy because it is has less angles.
The "snap to" of the gun is just amazing. Just played a game with Rammer, Stab, Vents instead of my usual Rammer, Optics, Vents, and the dispersion at full speed doesn't get bigger than the "+". Unless you rotate the turret, and it quickly snaps back because of the 1.7. It is very easy to go over a hill, fire a shot, get back down.
I took snapshot off because the tank definitely does not need it. Here is my crew setup.
100/100/88
BIA/Sixth Sense/Recon
BIA/Camo/Repair
BIA/Clutch Braking/Camo
BIA/Camo/Repair
It is a good tank.

I'm sure it will get nerfed either way. Just unlocked the t-20 and fully upgraded it so i got awhile to go. Hope they don't nerf it too hard before i finally get it.
Same boat as you just got the T20 but it is so great i might never make it to the patton 35 games and i am already half way towards pershing.
Wish you could pay to clone your crew

I've already been thinking about the nerfs that it'll be getting. :/ With BiA and Vents, I've got a 6.6 second reload.. so I'm thinking that'll get bumped up a good .5 second+.. so probaly .7.3/7.4 per shot. I could even see it losing a little pen, and definitely it's accuracy on the move.
Over on the Russian server, it seems like the best medium by *far*. along with the T110E4, so..think it was something like a 55%+ win rate or something stupid, Haha.
but I love it. It's so good, but so, so good. Like.. a bigger problem than the batchat was in it's hey-day IMO, Haha.
Either way, I can't wait to do more in this tank. :<
Again, I don't want it nerfed, but given WG's track record, you know how it is. =[

This.... If they touch any of the T10 MT stats, WOT may become world of "Tank Destroyers" and the destroyed...... The size and speed alone of the 48A1 is a big disadvantage especially during flanking. Your taller than an IS7!! Good tank, but not OP. It wasn't given 50 kph real life road speed because that would be OP as hell. Since it's the slowest and squishest T10 MT it needs those soft stats or it's done for. The devs know how to make the game work to an extent. These are tier 10's afterall and overall performance seems really balanced.

My absolute best tank in every single category except for kill to battle ratio.
