Howdy folks, our friends over at Curse have recently added us to their client.

Check out the news here!

I down loaded their "Curse Client" program. I messed up my screen saver, background, and started other problems with my computer. After uninstalling it and deleting the program folder, everything worked fine again.

It worked fine for me. And please don't use hard to read font and style.

It's a site where you can easily manage and download all your world of tanks mods and addons.

Glad to hear! I noticed Curse had WoT mods on site for awhile now, but very happy to see the client now is sync'd! been using Curse for years for WoW, why not WoT now. Thanks! Gonna make updating much easier instead of fishing through forums. (I noticed most Authors are now putting their stuff on Curse, due to its Popularity from WoW)

EDIT: Spelling

edit2: Actually I just noticed once u add WoT, it doesn't recognize any of the previous mods installed... Going to have to add each mod to Curse is going to be a pain.. Especially since most are found over RU and EU forums and were manually installed..Which would have to uninstall them and go through Curse and re-find them all. Also how is Curse going to handle WoT patches? (meaning putting Mods from 7.4 to say 7.5 folder in the most recent case) Most people just copy over the mod files from previous version to the next. (Unless it was a Major update, and addons need to be updated / got broken due to changed code). This may be more trouble than its worth atm...

We (Curse) also host a World of Tanks youtube channel here where you can check out Tournament battles and other WoT related videos.

Much more good stuff to come beyond all that.

is a mod manager that auto update your mods if the author adds a new version of it
PD: only useful in others mmo because most of the mods on wot category are outdated

So now I have to pick through curse, Mirtankov, and Nexus for my WoT modes *sigh* why can't WoT host this junk.

I downloaded and installed the program, and it doesnt show my mods that i have installed already. The Mod selection isnt that big either (comparing to mirtankov.net and other sources) and it wont display game skins....not so impressive i dont use it but its a start. :0

The Curse client uses a special file set up if I am not mistaken that allows it to stamp, detect, and auto update mods. For mods you just throw into the folder it doesn't have a way of detecting what they are since they are missing this. Though any new mod updates you merge off of Curse will have this special folder now when you install, even with out the Curse client.

In the end it will be a far easier tool to keep you up with patches and add new mods, the database will only grow over time.

Relic, seem to missed my post... How is Curse going to handle WoT patches and its mod folder? Is it set up to transfer those mods over to the new one when a patch hits, or is that still gonna have to be done by the user? As I'm sure you know, WoT addons don't always need a update every WoT game patch, unlike say most WoW add-ons. That's my one concern.

Right now we handled it by shifting them them to 0.7.5 folder. No matter what our solution is for future patches we will keep the end user experience first in our minds.

Unfortunately there is no way for us to analyze the mods currently installed and recognize them automatically so you're mostly right. We offer authors a variety of productivity tools and incentives so we're hoping that we can get a lot of authors over to host and update their own mods. Either way though, anything you install through Curse can be handled with simplicity and everything else will have to be as per usual.

One way we've made sure this doesn't cause too many headaches is by teaching the client to identify files that weren't installed by the client. Say for example you install a j1mb0's through curse, but want to replace the artillery ret. When you uninstall J1mb0's your manually placed ret will not be removed. Realistically the client should still only serve to simplify the process and if it doesn't then let us know and we'll figure out a way to fix it :)

Curse is a great place to LOOK for mods, download and install them yourself. I have always disliked their installer; it is very hit and miss on whether it works for a game without causing problems.

I wouldn't use the word junk it cover all the Mods and stie you talking about, and a bit harsh for the people that make the MODS for WOT. It would be nice to respect the mod makers to edit the "JUNK" part out, nothing personal, just a suggestion :Smile-hiding: . I agree with you that WOT could have a url to a site other than a 3rd Party site like Curse. I don't need to join because I can go to Topic at this URL BELOW  that links you to a site and get all the Mods and skins or what ever you or I will ever need...........CHEERS

PS: If you see a member named SHARKMEAT on CURSE it is not me  :Smile-angry: .

Just to eliminate any confusion, there is no requirement to join or sign up to Curse in order to access mods. Anyone can go to Curse.com, locate the mod, and download/install them manually. Downloads from Curse.com also are directly out of Curse, so no silly redirects for downloads to strange websites with lots of popups.
