I was driving my PzIV with the L70, sneaking through the woods near the church in support as I usually do on this map. We had already lost our two heavies on this flank so I decided that staying alive an spotting for runners was probably the best thing that I could do for the team. I managed to light up two enemy KV-2's as well as a T25/2, I was going to remain passive scout (thick woods, full camo, 150m-200m ranges) but couldn't resist putting the weakened T25/2 out of its misery.
My shot roused the KV's who slowly began to lumber towards my position. One was taken out by artillery and friendly tanks but the other dropped off the map, only to reappear 50m away looking directly away from me. I pumped two shots into his backside before concentrating my fire on the back and side of that big fat turret of his, hoping for an ammo rack. After my second hit he realised what was up and oh-so-painfully began to turn his turret toward me. Three shots, four shots, finally the fifth took him out with only around 15 degrees of turret arc to go ! And yes, he was a 152mm derp so if he had got the angle on me then OKW would have had to send my remains home in an ashtray.
The moral of the story is - why didn't that KV turn his hull as well as his turret ? A turret travers of 14 degrees plus a hull traverse of 18 equalts 32 desgrees per second - ie at least 2-3 fewer shots from me and a 152mm ticket to Valhalla for me.
All I know is that I thank God (or the RNG, whatever) for that driver's mistake !
