I'm nowhere near getting either of these tanks in terms of buying them, but I'd like to consider equipment choices in case there is a half price off event (aside from the one I just missed a few days ago )

I'm thinking of maximizing my strengths rather than compensating for weakness, and I might go with Toolbox (or Rammer....maybe,) Spall Liner, and Binocs. I'll probably lose a lot of money for focusing on being the damage sponge. Are these a good use of three equipment slots for these two tanks?

Anybody else have suggestions for these two tanks? I have never really driven an armor focused tank and I don't really know what I should mount. KV-3 is about the only tank I have (back when it was tier 6,) that had good armor for its tier, and I only had 50 battles in it.

German tanks likes Spal Liner, not only due to artillery but also due to possibility of ramming stuff, tho Maus and 4502 B have little need of Spal Liner to limit raming damage as they have armor for this, reducing effect on HE is still neat.

Equip selections greatly depends from destiny of your Maus: Clan Wars or Random Battles? For Clan Wars, ask your clan what they expect of Maus, in pubies you are very much on your own, thus making Binocs quite interesting choice, Gun Rammer and GLD are always good choices of course.

Well in the distant future (or 2 million away, whichever comes first) I will be driving the VK Ausf B. Pretty sure my clan would not call on me to drive that, so I'm certain that it will be Pub oriented. I guess Binocs would be useful then?

German = Sniper
Random Battle = Lack of Templa = No spotters.

I use Binocs together with GLD and rammer in my King Tiger, and it makes difference when you can count only for yourself ( so in most of battles ).
