Crew Transfer question

I just got the Cricket/Grille and plan on transfering my wespe crew up. However i dont have the credits to retrain them. Putting them in the grille i know they will be in the red for stats. Does this change over time, say after a certain number of battles they learn the new ride and then will start increasing thier competency again by hands on learning with out going to school??

No, they will stay "red" until you retrain them. Even retraining them for free is better than leaving them in the red, because of all the penalties to their performance and learning speed. (a 75% "red" skill does not actually perform at 75% in battle, nor does he learn 76% as fast as a regular 75%)
But if you have enough credits to retrain even some of the crew (gunner, loader, and maybe commander, in that order) it will be worth it.

Ok thanks Bronco, guess i will jsut retrain them peice meal as i make money. Shame, they are almos to 70% and are now starting to hit stuff consistenly in game. Thnak you for your clear answer and replying quickly!
