The Other Canadian Tank. The Grizzly I Cruiser is basically a remake of the M4A1 Sherman just with more sloped armor, CDP tracks (which are lighter) and has a 75mm M3 L/40 gun. 75mm of armor. Made in 1943-44. 188 were built. 19 feet long and 2.6m wide. 30 tons. There is a commander, gunner, loader, driver and a co-driver/hull gunner. Max speed 24km/h. It was used by Canada and Portugal. Questions? Just ask I will post or look it up on Wiki.

Canadian dry pin tracks also looked like tracks from German tanks on the outside but used the us style 2 rows of guide teeth. they used a single steel pin to conect the links which reduced maintenance time. They needed a 17 tooth sprocket vs the normal US one.. (forget the numbers.. have to dig out my photos of the Holy Roller in my home town to count). Sexton II used the same tracks. The brits would replace the tracks on their stuff with what ever they could get. some got CDP others got the US tracks regardless of where the tank was built.

some good photos here..

http://www.ramtank.ca/grizzly.htm

3rd from the bottom shows the CDP
2nd last shows the normal US track.

side note

Easy 8 dispositions in Canada..

hold onto that last thought.. and get back to us... IIRC I thought the Griz was mentioned in other posts..

as long as they do not get it confused with this grizzly..

used by our infantry units and they had it in use as a Gun tractor with 6 rounds of ammo.
