Unable to access Internet after exiting game

Marginal's Photo Marginal Aug 11 2012

Since the 7.5 patch deployment I have noticed that after I exit the game I am unable to access any other websites or connect to other Internet-based games unless I re-start my computer. Anyone else having this problem and is tech support aware of this issue?

Shouldn't be happening, try disabling your network adapter through "Open Network and Sharing Center" and then enabling it again, resetting it. That should work.

Very strange but the chances are the problem is at your end mate check you dont have the power saving option ticked in your network adaptors setting IE device manager/network adaptor/properties/power management it could also be a setting in your router/modem config pages that turns the internet off after a certain time or when there is no activety

Got to dash to work i,ll check later see if you fixed it i will have more time to help then good luck :)

ive had this happen too after the game crashes on me, from what i can gather it's DNS related, I do a DNS flush rather than a restart and im away playing again (type in ipconfig /flushdns in a command box)

I've checked the network adapter settings and made a few adjustments, though nothing stood out that I could see that would cause the problem that occurs after a normal exit from the game. It acts as if all my sockets are taken and won't allow another connection to occur (no errors given in that regard). The adapter power management is set to shutdown when the computer shutsdown, no wakeup allowed. I did turn off auto-negotiate on the network speed and set to 100Mbps full duplex. The network adapter driver is the latest and greatest. I have tried the disable/enable process for the adapter after leaving the game but that did not fix the inability to connect to other sites/games, only a re-start does.

did you try the DNS flush??  disabling/enabling the network adapter will not do anything for a poisoned Dns, only a reboot or a flush will fix that.

I'm having the same issue except that my game crashes when sometimes loading a game.  I then try to reconnect to the game and it gets stuck on the patcher.  I then try to access internet and it doesn't work.  Usually only a reboot fixes it which I assume flushes the DNS.  I will give this a go when it happens next time to see if it works.  i hope it does.  It's a real bummer to reboot when I'm on a winning streak.

I tried the DNS flush and it did nothing. I replaced the network adapter card and drivers and the problem persists. Prior to the 7.5 patch I had no problems. I have submitted a tech support ticket to see if they made any changes to how the game communicates with computers. Maybe I'll get a resonse that is helpful :Smile_blinky:
