New ATi drivers, the 10.10s are now available and they seem to fix the "lag when firing while zoomed in" issue. At least they did for me. Test fired a few rounds while fully scoped on my 3001P with 88mm and the strange drop to like 15fps(from 300, I have a 5970) was no longer present.

Sadly the green/red outline around vehicles when you mouse over them still isn't working. I imagine Wargaming or someone needs to get in contact with ATi(well, AMD) to get that issue sorted. Can be kind of an unfair advantage nVidia users have over us.

do not force AA through your catalyst panel for WoT - you will have normal outline if you set AA through game settings only....

better yet :) - use http://www.radeonpro.info/

cheers

BEWARE

I have 5770. I installed this drivers. Tank models looked worse. Textures become flattened and fuzzy. As if game now loads lower quality textures.

You need to go into game settings and choose 'high' or 'very high' settings to have same quality you have had with previous drivers.

Once you did that... guess what... low-fps-with-particles come back :))

ATI - drivers fail since 2001

Tanks look fine to me...I play at 1920x1200 though so maybe they are too high res to notice? I am aware of the decrease in filtering quality(AF) though as "High quality" in CCC is only just as good as "Quality" was in the 10.9s.

I had a GTX260 before getting my 5970 and honestly I regret not waiting for Fermi to come out. I would of picked up two 470s instead probably but my 260 died and I needed a fast card -now-.

The 5970 is incredibly fast and awesome, don't get me wrong. It's the drivers that fail, not the hardware....definitely going nvidia next time it is time to upgrade though.

Thanks for the AA tip...I'll try setting it to application preference and see if that works!

Edit: Just so you know JLZ after installing the 10.10s over the 10.9s my graphics level in WoT had been reset to "medium" so maybe that's what you saw? on medium they do indeed look smudgy but when I switched it back to VH it looked fine.

Edit2: Seems like unforcing the AA and just using the in-game one worked great. Those outlines sure help too! I had no idea. It lets you know which way their barrel is facing so you can stay in cover until it turns away n stuff.....wow lol

Edit3: For those getting the "pink" bug after upgrading to the 10.10s, just open CCC, help, preferences, restore factory defaults. Fixes it. You'll have to re-set your 3d settings after though.

Wait a sec! After you selected 'High' in game's menu you still don't have low-fps-with-smoke/particles-involved problem?

My point was:
Driver 10.10 (or whatever) resets WoT to 'Medium' and you don't see aforementioned problem. As soon as you chose "High", problem is there again.

No. I always play with settings maxed as my hardware more than allows running this game like 5 times simultaneously while maintaining 60fps+ lol. After I updated the drivers it reverted it to medium. I switched it back to very high before testing in the first place as soon as I saw my garage my tank looked like crap so I noticed something was wrong.

Damn... I still have "lag when firing while zoomed in". You lucky... :)

Well, I'm glad at least someone solved "lag when firing while zoomed in"

That's too bad. Just played a few rounds tonight and it is definitely gone for me. Maybe the issue you are having is more to do with graphics horsepower than the bug?

5770 is a pretty decent card though....and WoT isn't exactly graphics intensive...I dunno.

Try the 10.10c hotfix? google for it if you can't find it at their website.

new drivers give me only higher GPU temperature (+ 10 °C) , particle problem was not solved and i had the same FPS (20-40) :(

for now im using original drivers from manufacter v.8.634 Win7x64 (GPU temp is around 75-90 °C)

Hey Max.
Are you playing on a laptop?

In general, laptop video cards do not receive sufficient cooling.
Try placing one of the laptop cooling pads or laptop coolers under your computer.  The one I use is powered by a USB port.
Hope this helps.  Take care,

yeah its laptop, but it is not about cooling, my GC can  work without problems at 105°C (hours and hours) , but then keyboard become really hot....
the problem is, this new driver doesnt remove particle bug or change performance (on my gpu), only get hotter...
but thx anyway maybe i will buy c. pad in the future

I found if you play the game in full screen mode the outlines don't work but if you play in a window but set the screen size to the resolution of your choice you should still have the outlines working.

Hi.

I have the alienware M17x with the 5870s in Crossfire.

10.10 DID NOT WORK FOR ME.

But the NEW 10.11 did.

I can now run the game in VERY HIGH with VYSNC/Triple Buffer and have 62 FPS NP @ 1920x1200p

God the game is so different when buildings/Shift firing doesn't lag you.

Lucky. 10.11 didn't fix it. On medium, I still drop from 20 fps to 1 fps when zoomed, and ping spikes from 125 or so to 300+. And yea, I'm playing from a 2 year old laptop with a HD3650, so it's not the greatest of comps, but yea..

Now I have to resort to using the LOWEST settings for EVERY option except filtering (used Bilinear because point is so bad it literally hurts my eyes >_>)

Hope this issue gets fixed soon...

I HAVE A SOLUTION!

I dont know why, but I have  lagg when firing /zooming when im in a bush / low fps if lot of tree/ low fps if zoomed to my tank and see dust /no green and red outline

I was chatting with my friendin msn, so I changed to windowed mode. And everything was fine after! If I change back to full screen it goes laggy, and low fps, no green/red outlines etc.... dont know why, so I play with windowed mode.

I have latest ati driver, check picture below for my ingame settings.

Note!!!: If you hover your mouse over WoT while windowed, the mouse will disappear, but dont fear u can still resize it if u slowly move it to the edge of WoT and try resize!

Spoiler

Anyone found a fix already.

I have installed the 10.11 drivers. And omg I regret it.
I was running on 10.5 before. But it seems those were better then 10.11 + WoT

Has anyone already tried installing older drivers?

I have High pings, lag spikes, trees in background disappearing while have view distance ingame at maximum. Etc etc.

I have 2x XFX Ati 5770XXX in crossfireX (tho the game ain't using SLI or CrossfireX)
And windows 7 64bits?

Any fix, anyone?

This ain't a fix. Playing the game in Windowed mode doens't fix my Tree disappearing, lag spikes etc. + who wants to play in windowed mode... not me.

Also I did lots of research on the forum already. No solution is found.
I also know what your bug is with the not seeying green/red outlines on the tank in Full screen. Go in your CCC and set your AA setting to use application settings. Then turn AA on in the game, and turn advanced post processing off.
There you have your green/red lines in full screen.

you can force enable CrossFireX by turning the Catalyst A.I. to Advanced in the CCC
