Its a light tank guys. It uses a different playstyle. I have seen type 62's rock games. Others who don't know how to use it say that they hate it.

I had mixed feelings about this tank even before i bought it... Specialy after taking my VK2801 and Chaffee.. and making Mincemeat.. out of All the Type 62s i ran accross..
They just didnt have that WOW factor after shooting them up in combat... But i looked at the vid that WG put out... and they say its not a scout... But still gets Tier 10 MM..
So i was intrigued.. and picked one up... Have had a few games so far.. but I really think this would be the Awesome tank that it is.. If they just change the MM to 7 or 8...

No question, Type 62 is a unique tank. Clearly, those who like it are a minority and if WG wants it to be a successful income generator (for both WG and players), it's gonna need a slight buff in speed and/or lower MM. Perhaps a little more armor and defining it as a tier 6 medium is the solution. Let's gain some exerience and see how the devs respond before getting to excited.

I pick one up just to give it a try, It can be fun when MM puts it into a tier 8 match but any match with a lot of arty or more than 1-2 tier 9/10 and your just fodder.
It really need speed/agility boost I think this tank should drive more like baby T44 that would give it some utility as a skirmisher and anti-scout the armor and gun are fine for a T6 light but it just need to be faster.

i am very dissapointed with this tank, half the time im in battles where i cant even pen stuff and theres no room for flanking and scouting cause the speed and maneuverability is just so bad!
credit making? huh its a joke! the most ive gotten is 27k! and on a loss you will just get 11k its almost impossible to do consistent damage cause the second you do they just turn around and 1 shot you and you cant even run away cause you move so slowly! and half the time your waiting for that e75 to show his side so you can pen him once before every single tier 9 gun is for some reason pointed at you instead of all the other big tanks around.

I've been getting 34-37K per round but only after I decided not to play it like a light and more like a cross between a medium and my turreted American TD's....
I'll hide in bushes or behind cover and take shots... never... NEVER... will attempt to scout in this thing again!
It's true about evrything aiming for you, I was in a match with 2 Lowe's on either side in the front of me working on an M103 and it was just bam bam bam... all tanks in the vicinity and arty raining sweet death on my ass including the M103 who stopped fighting the Lowe's just to shoot me :(
It needs speed, The gun is fine with me, and I pen Tier 10's but only when I can actually maneuver to hit their squishy bits.... which is rarely.
Let me take a 7 - 9 one on one and NP though!

I've been fairly successful with the Type 62, but am leaning more toward the "needs a buff" camp. A slight increase in speed and/or armor, along with better MM would go a long way toward making this a good tank without making it OP.

I was actually quite impressed with its speed and damage output for a light. Its relatively quick and I typically use it to perform some scouting but mainly to flank and snipe. There are some issues but nothing I cannot overcome.

I think a slight buff to speed and lower MM would be fair.

I love the thing. so far I've won every battle and was useful in every battle.
penetrates almost everything I shoot at, and I've never been one-shotted.
dunno what people are on about.

I bought it when it came out and it is exactly as the You Tube vid said. No claims were made about the speed and the report was to me, accurate. I love mediums and this tank will just take a bit longer to master. More speed would make it a killer but that would make it like a lot of others.
It has its place and I will find that sooner rather than later. It is a thinkers tank where as I am a Kamikaze type of player. Maybe it will teach me to play better.

I had a chance to try before I bought (buddy's account), and I just bought mine. Is it worth $22? Hell yes. Unless it's your last ever $22 and you need medicine for grandma.
It's fine the way it is, but if you guys complaining gets it buffed I won't argue.

I have over 100 games in this tank. 62% win rate and 39-40% survival rate. How, you may ask? Play to its strengths- Light tank, camo is the same moving or stationary, get camo skill for crew first. Buy binocs and camo net=maximizes the 390 view range and maximizes camo when stationary and the tank becomes invisible, buy a rammer so when you can fire you can fire faster. How to play- In low level games play it like a T-28, use cover, engage targets that are occupied with another tank. In high tier games, spot for arty and the rest of your team, watch the minimap and finish off lone heavies or mediums. Stay invisible unless you have an advantage. You should play the tank to survive and reach the end game stage of the battle, then you can reap in whatever tier level game you are in. It also excells at killing scouts because if you pick a good overwatch position you will see the scout before it sees you. Then your team can react to the scout and support you killing it or driving it away. Overall, I really like this tank, a speed buff to 60 kmh would be nice, might make it a bit op with that kind of speed though.

Well I've officially given up on the 62. It, sadly, was not worth the money.
Despite all my attempts, this thing simply has no real purpose other than to draw fire. I actually had an E50 M fire PAST 4 tier 8s and 9s to hit me wayyyyy to the rear. Why? because its an easy kill. One shot, POP, done. Its also a favorite target for arty. Its a one shot kill everytime and even a near miss is devistating.
I'm sad to say that this tank has a very limited oppertunity to contribute to the team. Especially with the current MM. It can tear up a tier 7 such as the IS or Tiger but stands little chance of hurting tier 8 and above. And thats only if i survives long enough to find an opening. In the few cases ive managed to make this thing work it was by waiting for an oppertunity and by that point the team had already lost.
So in short, to slow to be a scout. To slow to survive if its seen. To weak to exploit unless youre lucky enough to find a single enemy without support. Limited use for support. Again, its always the first target even if you stay back from your teams heavier tanks. Its ok as a sniper, but cant sit still long enough to really help much.
I'll keep it in the garage, because i paid for it. But a few things need to happen before I think it will truelly find its place.
1. Lower MM. 4 of my 5 battles today had tier 9s and 10s. And in all cases nothing was lower than tier 8. Thats an aweful spread by any standards.
2. Buff the speed to the historically correct 60 kph.
3. Buff the armor physics so it actually bounces rounds. The claim was that its armor, being similarly sloped like the 59, would be bouncy. It isnt. I have seen zero bounces. Even from low tier guns. Absolutely everything goes through.
Opinion wise, Id say it doesnt hide well either. Ive been killed several times by tanks i didnt see. A heavy can see and kill a light without being spotted itself? And like i said, arty absolutely LOVES to swat this tank.
Now I chose this because i thought it might be fun. But if youre a wallet warrior looking for a credit machine, youll be dissapointed to. It really isnt a good earner. Its not going to get scout bonuses, it cant do much damage, and its survivability is so low you will be fixing it after every game.
Before anyone says anything, IM NOT BITCHING. It is what it is and I'm just offering my opinion. And i do think if they fix some of its faults it might be a great tank. But right now, its not worth the $22. I think maybe 10% of players will make this thing work. The rest will just find it frustrating.

For some reason, I got -1s when I said this same thing the day it was released... Spend the extra 12 dollars and get the Type 59 instead when it is available.

<boggle> It is slow for a Light. Tier IV Lights are faster than it - how does its speed impress you?

For some reason, I really like this tank.
Of course I would welcome some buffs, top speed perhaps, but I really enjoy it.
It is not the star of my garage, not great for tcs, but it is a little bit awesome.
I have been having a hell of a time in some of my favorite tanks lately. My poor Foch 155 has seen its win rate plummet, for example. But for some reason, every time I play this tank i find a way to contribute, find some place in the battlefield to make a difference.
Sorry you don't like it OP, but it meets my expectations.

I think either the gun's damage or pen should be increased, or the MM should be fixed to a t8 cap. I can penetrate most t8s from the back and sides, I think its fair. Also I have never made over 26k even with a few kills, where are the 45k games you guys are talking about?

I just had a 45k game just the other day. I dispatched a VK3601 who for some reason thought he could out brawl me. I got a T-50 and sniped an arty from range and got the kill after he disappeared. I also damaged a few others. I believe it was a tier 8 match.

It is a difficult tank to play because it requires a lot of patience. I am used to playing in the forward lines and this tank does not allow it. I find it best to wait to see what develops and then move very carefully (not my normal style). I cannot really blame the tank for playing it incorrectly. Just means I have to change my style to suit the tank. Makes it more challenging and therefore interesting.
Also, I will withhold my judgement until crew is 100% on secondary camo skills. It needs to be very stealthy.
