The website is horribly annoying, but I've managed to get my team signed up for that first event. The Ural teams won't be able to play in the second one seeing as how it's the same weekend as Ural Steel.
Finals for 2011 were held Dec 8-11th, so I'm guessing it will be around the same time?

Hint: If you don't want to play a Ural team, sign up for the second qualifier:p

I dont think this is WG sanctioned. This is a private ( probably for profit ) endevour. Before getting too involved I'd research it a bit more. I visited the WCGCanada site and from what I can tell it is quite outdated and not visited much. The forum had 0 recent posts.

Anyone know any details about these qualifying tournys? I'd like to specifically knows what WG knows about the formation of the national team(s).

WG said this weeks ago and yet they still haven't gave us any more information like they said they would.

Tankers!
Wargaming is proud to inform you that World of Tanks will be featured at the World Cyber Games Grand Finals, taking place at Kunshan International Exposition & Convention Center in Kunshan, China, from November 29th to December 2nd.
World of Tanks debut in World Cyber Games became possible because of numerous and successful tournaments and championships all over the world, which made tank battles truly global
“Several months ago we introduced a special blitz version of tank battles with only seven players per team, and it has proven to be a great fit for tournament formats,” said World of Tanks eSport Lead Alexey Kuznetsov. “We are all excited about being included in the most popular eSport event of the year, and I’m sure World of Tanks will make a great debut there.”
WCG are very similar to Olympic Game, but for eSports, which constant sponsor is Samsung Company. South Korea has taken the lead of World Cyber Games in year 2000 with the first championship, which took place in Seoul. It was supported by world major IT companies and South Korea government. The success of this championship has given life to annual WCG. The common prize pull of World Cyber Games is 500 000 $ , and about 700 players from 70 countries take part in the championships annually.
We will share more details with you later. Follow the news!

"The top finishers from each qualifying event will receive an auto-berth and travel stipend to the U.S. National Finals event."

Does that mean free or partially paid for..?

Qualification to the National Finals

World of Tanks players will have the opportunity to participate in two online qualification rounds for the chance to compete at the WCG USA National Finals. The winning team per qualifier will receive stipened travel to the national finals where they will compete for the opportunity to represent the United States at the WCG Global Festival. Teams that place second through fourth in the online qualifiers will receive an invitation to compete at the national finals, but will be responsible for their travel to the event. Players must be United States citizens to compete, and will not be allowed to qualify for multiple games.

sti·pend
noun
1. a periodic payment, especially a scholarship or fellowship allowance granted to a student.

2. fixed or regular pay; salary.

As far as the Stipend goes, its anyone's guess as to how much it is.  It may cover your entire trip and it may only be partial I suppose.  I would think the winning team would get a full stipend but I am unfamiliar with how WCG has done it.  The last sentence seems to indicate that 2nd through 4th will also get invitations but will have to make travel themselves. Still unclear about a lot of this and what exactly you're playing for.  As WoT is one of their "Promotional Games" categories, you may be playing for $3,000 first place, which isn't worth the travel cost imo.  More info would be great, but we still don't know much about Ural Steel either so.........

Unless its fully paid for..I have no real interest in going there. If it was Singapore or Germany again..I'd consider it.

In reference to questions regarding WCG, please direct all those to the WCG site, as they will be able to handle your questions far better than we will be able to.

It's a promotional game, first year, probably won't have too much publicity until the games begin.
