So I was playing a tier 9 match in my KV3 and I see a loan T34 wandering off. I decide to try and save him, and myself and my platooned TigerP follow him to take down a Tiger and an arty, and then a M103. During the encounter with the M103 the T34 dies. At which point he begins to verbally harass me for "being a noob." He then continues harassing me telling me "I didn't do poo", after getting 2 kills in the tier 9 match. Being disheartened myself and my platoonmate both log off feeling deeply saddened. I quit WoW for this same verbal harassment.
Yes I know there is an ignore button. I play this game for fun. People used to say good game, and thanks for the help, and other encouraging statements. But what is fun about getting verbally pooed on, especially by your own teammates?
I personally would like a report harassment/inapproperate behavior button. I wouldn't mind a few warnings to let people to know THIS IS A GAME. I play this for fun and people like this spoil my fun, and make me want to go quit and play anything else instead.
Please lend your thoughts.
When has this happened to you and what can we do about this?

TK'ing people is forbidden in my clan, even if it is someone on our hit list. I just tell them to either ignore those who are verbally abusive or just report them. Still the idiots doing all the cussing and just being a-holes to others really do take away from the enjoyment of this game.

I did that for a bad instance of tk'ing and endless abuse between two other players that completely ruined a match. I got a response right away telling me that things like this were handled automatically in game via the Complain menu and the game logging TK's. I have heard of some players getting a chat ban but can only assume that happens if enough players in one or more matches complain using the menu. I complain every time someone posts abuse on chat. Maybe it works?

sadly it's not just during the game this happends, it's the same if you start a topic in the forum, people can't just disagree with what ever you wrote they have to insult you aswell, and call you noob and stuff, i find that most people who play wot think's that they are the best player ever and eveyone else is sh*t
its just very sad

And again tonight - Mines map, a Type guy decides we are 'all' going to charge the hill - yeah, right. He leads a few of the team to a quick death then sits in chat calling me a 'Moron' for not supporting his hill move in my T-44.
I came so close to sending him a PM in these forums - he has over 9000 battles - but decided once again to let it go. Really tough to just ignore these twats when they single you out for abuse even though youve had no interaction with them at all.

Want to hear my story? I had a particular deputy clan commander (I won't mention names) go batsh*t insane and start harassing me after he tangled with one of my teammates (in a pub match) and I knocked his Stug out, saving my teammate like any good teammate would have done. However, he kept his harassment up even after the match ended and challenged me to a rematch, which I set up, but he backed out on even after repeated invites.
FFS, it's just a game. How many times did these people's mothers drop them on their heads to render them incapable of understanding such things?

I'm not saying you're wrong...I'm not! But, I want to suggest you get thicker skin because changing the behavior of relatively anonymous players, of random age, on a free to play game is basically impossible. What you can change is yourself by simply ignoring these statements and continuing to enjoy this game.
best of luck.

I feel your pain... I really do because I've been on both ends. [I'm being totally serious, not sarcastic]
But, if I'm in a game with a player named CuddlyKittens, I'm not getting "a warm fuzzy" over my chances of winning. And, unfortunately... nice thoughts aren't going through my head if we lose.
Edit: No offense intended by my post... just sayin.

Rightfully so. I'd take a player named CuddlyKittens over Das_Panzerlied, Patton330129, or xxshaDOwKillerman35xx any day.

Ignore them, sadly that's what is up with these games. Troll them back or just enjoy your game, don't have to 'read' everything in chat box except for platoon chat *which is colored yellow-orange*.
You could have reported him for Insult / Provocation in-game too.

I'm not one to go adopting a victim mentality, but this happens a lot. I can't get through 25 games without it. I'm just here to play internet tanks, and my solace is generally in being better at it than the people who harass me.
i must disagree. you're no victim. very likely you're the actual instigator/cause of the trouble from the get-go. certainly you have no problem with actually performing verbal harrassment against others at the drop of a hat simply because you think you can do it and get away with it. cause from what i can see you're here to slander people and call them liars. to pretend to be all knowing and all powerful. pretending to be a big shot in a place already packed with 'wanna be' big shots. so no wonder people complain about you and harass you in game when you have that sort of bad mental attitude.
try dropping the show-off pretensions, the fake and smug 'I AM ALL KNOWING' attitude, (especially when it is handily apparent that you do not) and begin to treat people with respect and kindness and it's very possible that the people in-game (and elsewhere) just 'might' have a different and better outlook on and about you.
try it, see if i'm right.
