The Type-59 changed my life.

I'll admit, I bought the Type-59 for the simple fact it's an armored ATM machine. I was unaware of how much FUN the tank is; now that I've played it some I can safely say I have more fun on it than my Tiger II. It also enlightened me to the world of mediums, sure, I've owned a PzIV and a M4 Sherman, but this was my gateway drug into higher tier medium tanking. If any other tier 8+ mediums are as fun as this little rice cooker I may be using my heavies less and less.
Anyone else having a blast with this little beast? I can't be the only one (I sure as hell hope not at least, I see 8 of the damned things a match, me included).

It was so popular on its' original release, it was removed from the store because it broke matchmaking.
So, to answer your question, "yes".

I bought it, but I'm still struggling a bit to learn how to play it. It's more sluggish than I'm used to in a medium tank, and I'm having to learn to play it a little differently than I do mediums with zippier acceleration.

and just to think most people that have a t59 and the other mediums consider it one of the worst tier 8 mediums.

I was plugging away at getting my teir X heavy when I bought one of these last time it was for sale to finance my teir 9. It changed my outlook on mediums. I love this tank. I'm now working on getting my teir 9 medium the E-50. I also really have enjoyed the Panther II.

It was Soooooo much more fun before they ninja nerfed the acceleration!

The Type 59 scourage of last year is the reason I pushed into the Russian Mediums... to counter them.

I play my 59 like a mix between a medium and a hull down heavy. There are faster tanks and better guns out there, but the 59 troll turret has distinct advantages in being able to bounce just about anything off that turret.

It's definately a great tier 8 medium to play, and makes amazing credits, but the best in my opinion of course, is still the M26 Pershing. Great armor hull down, great depression, decent acceleration, a great gun, great view range, if you like U.S. mediums, this thing is a beast
. I've been playing my Type 59 more though simply because of the credits, I'm glad I have both though.

I'm close to the m26 but the type 59 has distracted me from my t20.
If the m26 is half as good as everyone tells me it is i may never play another tank again

Of course it changed your life...you destroy everyone because you spent real life money for a tank...gotta make sure you're pampered.

Yeah, the Type is definetly good, better than a stock tier 8 medium but non prem mediums can upgrade. But yeah, its a nice little tank, really lets you feel like you can make a diffrence in games just by helping out where needed and flanking enemies. Probably gonna be my only tier 8 tank, the others look OK but ive already got a fun little tank to play for credits if i need to grind crew skills ill use my Tier 5 premiums.

I agree with the statements about the M26, tried it on test and it was awesome. The Type 59 though seems just as fun, and although I do not have the M26 on live yet I do have the Super Pershing, which is much slower... but that armour... OMG!!! I think it was worth getting both of them. The Type 59 makes me consider getting the Soviet meds again.

I hate the Type 59, so, no, I'm not having a blast in it. It's a waste of my money and time and I can't get past the frustration of learning how to play it. I'm up past 100 games in it now.
