*posting this since "Noooooooooooooooooooooooo" seems to be locked for some reason and didn't see a reason why*

So I asked in the 7.5 Q&A topic about what changes will come to the Panzer 4 in 8.0, here's what General Direction replied with

So, what "revisions" will the Panzer 4 get in 8.0?
A new turret with extra armor plates is being added to replace the Schmalturm. 7.5 L48 will be balanced similarly to the 57mm ZiS4, though with slightly higher alpha and slightly slower rate of fire (approximately equal DPM), and at least equal accuracy. There's a pretty good chance the 7.5 L70 will no longer be accessible.

This is saddening to see the L/70 disappear, but I am curious as to what the turret will be like(Maybe the oft dreamed Ausf. H turret?), at least it can carry on being more armored than the 3/4(Feel drawn towards using the E8/E2 parallel)

Changes coming to the L/48 compared with ZiS-4:
+ Alpha
+ Accuracy
- RoF
~ DPM

The 7.5 stats of the 75mm L/48 are:
DMG: 110/110/175
Pen: 106/143/38mm
RoF: 15(On pz4)
Accuracy: 0.41-0.42m
Aim Time: 1.7-2.3s
DPM: 1650

The Comparison Data(Note, Conditions are color coded based on what's an advantage in L/48s favor)
Spoiler

So damage will probably be upped to 115 like the other 75/76mm class guns. I'd hope it would also get a pen buff to at least 115 with AP(Better than T-34 76, but weaker than the Sherman to be fair. Probably to keep in German style of accuracy and pen it would go higher but I'm trying to be semi conservative here). "At least equal accuracy", if to the ZiS-4 would be pretty scary as that means it'd be superior to the L/70's .35m, but after some thought it's possible he was more referring to the current L/48 and that just leaves me :/.

My prediction of the 8.0 Public Test #1 75mm L/48 is:
DMG: 115/110/175
Pen: 106/143/38mm
RoF: 14.34
Accuracy: 0.39m
Aim Time: 1.7-2.3s
DPM: 1650

My Highly Optimistic Prediction of the 8.0 PT#1 75mm L/48 is:
DMG: 120/110/175
Pen: 120/143/38mm
RoF: 13.75
Accuracy: 0.34m
Aim Time: 1.7-2.3s
DPM: 1650

Well on the bright side, the VK's stock grinds will be boosted. Before I got the turret on the 3001P I could snipe with the L/48 against tier 7s and 8s flanks for MINISCULE damage but DEAR GOD the accuracy made it horrendous

Will it's new turret resemble that of the Pz 4 Hydro's?

THEY TOUCHED MY BELOVED PANZER 4????? HOW DARE THEY??? NOOOOOOOO....

Sorry, I just had to vent. Me and the Pz.Kpfw IV go back a LOOONG time. It was my first tier 5, and I still have it. I lament the fact that the L/70 will be removed, and my Vader turret blown off...maybe I'll actually learn how to play mediums instead of just sitting back and sniping.

I kinda like how they're going to change the turret to hopefully make the PZ4 a bit more historically accurate. But don't get me wrong the Pz4 right now with the long 75 and Schmalturm Turret is a great and fun sniper. I'm just curious to the see how the new Pz4's playing style will be now...

Well, it isn't as if the Schmalturm is not based in historical precedence. There were designs and plans to try to fit the PzIV with the Schmalturm. Just saying.

Yes, the Hydro's turret does look like the historic Ausf. H turret(Not the one on the 3/4, and this is assuming i'm right about the guess)

I even found a mod to model swap the Schmalturm and L/70 with that turret and an L/48 model. Didn't realize how stifling the Schmalturm looked

EDIT - Didn't Priory try to get a suggestion up and running to give the Pz4 a turret that resembled the 3601's stock turret? I'll have to look for that

Yeah I understand that they did have plans to put the Schmalturm turret on the Pz4, you're right there. But still I think they can incorporate the Ausf. H turret or even an Ausf. F. Turret to make the tank look a bit more historical looking.

Looks like I'd better play through the PzIV into the Porsche line before the 75L70 is taken away.

What if it's the actual pzn IV turret that's not the vader helm?

What do you mean the actual turret?

That was my point...it's not unhistorical. So saying "more historical" or "less historical" is not accurate. The word you are looking for is "awkward". The Pz4 looks "awkward" with the Schmalturm.

Not sure why the turret needed extra armor, it was already the best turret on any tier 5 in terms of frontal armor. Typical of the way they've been handing changes to German vehicles...nerf the useful stats and "buff" what didn't need buffing (E-100 drivers will know the feeling).

Extra armour probably refers to compared to the stock turret, or possibly extra armour plates on top of the existing armour.

Great one of the few German tanks that i thought they did a good job on is getting gutted. The long 75 was what made it differnt from the 3/4 (other then the ugly turret). It also helped of set the lack of a tier 5 heavy for the Germans. Leave it the the Russain DEVS to go back and mess up something that actualy worked for the Germans. Next they will move the Tiger up to tier 8 and cancel christmas!
