when you're out numberd you must takes risks for example : http://www.youtube.c...feature=related about the battle of the Baltic shows 6 Tigers taking out about 12 IS tanks. btw this isn't made up the stroys are told from the tankers them selfs

Yea but miss the point that they lose entire baltic states. I wonder why they include rambling from a guy who serve 6th GTA. At that Time 6th GTA are rolling up Tigers in Romania, Hungary, Czechoslovakia and Austria, in Balkans, not Baltic.

the reason i think that they have cannon fired missile is because it is safer. Mounting the the missiles outside the tanks means you have to get out of the tank to reload your missiles. If you can fire anti-tank missiles from inside the tank with the main gun means that the crew don't  have to expose themselves to the enemy. The missiles are more likely to misfire than to jam since the guns have smooth bore. I'm not an expert but that is what my logic tells me.

Soviet tank design wont move far away from their politic. Khrushchev is at helm at that time and he love missiles. He want More missiles. If your tank design want to be approved for mass production it must be able to fire missile. So they design tank that can fire missile.

Not all soviet tank fire missile from its gun. T-10 fire missile from external launcher, when Khrushchev learn this he demand Joseph Kotin (T-10 designer/producer)  to stop producing T-10.

Yeah, and he also demanded (and barely got) the IT-1 which only had missiles. Not too popular with the military, though, what with the 12 rounds of ammo and the 300m dead zone.

GLATGMs allow for versatility- T-64Bs could kill infantry and tanks at close range with the 125mm cannon and vehicles at 4000 m with the AT-8s.
