Panther II is at the bottom of its tier in terms of win %. It is highly dependant on the quality of the team it gets placed on given it is a pure sniper and relies on the assault arm of the team knowing their job. When things go badly - as they often do in pubs - the tank is SOL. Weak armor value = an easy kill in CQB as the tank is not designed for this.

Given the MM changes and the tier level for this tank expect to be in the bottom 3rd of the list a majority of the time, meaning you are facing a lot of higher tier armor. That negates some of the value of the excellent sniper gun this tank mounts.

Lastly - in a normal win you are likely to lose credits even with a premium account. This tank needs to hit a lot of targets in a match to pay for itself meaning you need to redeploy often during a match. Everytime you do the tank is at risk.

Given its overall performance compared to its in-tier peers I think there are better options unless you are dead set on getting the E-50. In general higher tier German tanks have a bad rep and underperform their Russian and French peers so...

Tho I just like German tanks, for example, today I bought T-50 for third time in attempt to grind it out and after finishing victory with Scout badge, 4 kills and over 1k non premium exp all I was able to think was "how I hate T-50", and then I toke Leopard on a spin and my day become better.

So for me it was worth using as I enjoyed it.

although I agree with the support role that you put the tank in, I find myself making credits in the Panther II in anything but a loss or an instant death. I have no problem with the tank, I play its role and I love it

True enough.  I just wish the thing wasn't full of dry grass clippings and oil lanterns, because I see them get set on fire frontally ALL THE TIME.

Panther ll has awful mobility. lt has awful armour. lt suffers awful module damage. lt has an awful size. Panther ll does not make good money, and is sure easy to lose money - but in wins you still can make pocket change usually. Pulling 15-25 thous in a win is usually the case, and if you die its 12 thous, so thats still a profit (firing 12x is only 3 thous) lf not, stop playing the scout and getting yourself killed doing nothing. Right now, l am quite sure that panther ll is a real poor choice to play.

This all being said....with the removal of Lorraine from tier 8 mediums, the Panther ll once again takes over as the tier 8 medium sniper. lts firepower, being the only tier 8 medium now with 2OO~ Pen, puts it in the niche it once had before the French came. At 24O damage, and with faster rate of fire than T44/Ty59/Pershing - it is capable of doing quite some damage actually.

Tier 8 in general is hard to make credit, WG design it so people buy prem acc. Complaining about tier 8 lack of credit and blaming it to specific tank = clueless.

Panther 2 has the best gun on tier 8, relative good armor for medium (can bounce other medium gun if you are lucky), try to use this tank strong point.

OP really need to expand his horizon, stop playing German tank for a while, taste other nation tier 8 medium. The grass is not really greener on the other side. Other nation can use good whiner too, why only *certain nation* line attract whiner

disclaimer i have patton, panther 2, T43, AMX 13-90, Type 59.

Without premium, I averaged 778xp on my panther 2 and made money almost every game. You just have to know how to play a tank.

Panther 2 is actually quite fun, I prefer it to my type 59. While not as mobile, the gun is so much better, and the armor is a bit better. I can even brawl 1 on one with another t8 medium and win/do well. Though super Pershing would be tougher do to high armor.

Also, consider its weight, and relatively good speed it is a good rammer, like a mini E50.

I enjoy my panther II...along with all my other tier 8 mediums.  Each has it's own unique play style.  But like others, I do not believe that the panthers success is more dependent on mm than other tanks...it's all about how you play it.

Hmm...I happen to like the P2. It seems like an able Tier 8 medium to me.

If you use it in a support role (heavily into the support aspect) and it appears your team is doing VERY badly, i'd recommend waiting for your team to atleast damage as much as possible, find a cozy defensive position that's enroute to your base, then proceeding to destroy oncoming tanks with your High RoF and easy penetration.

Yes, the MM changes make it appear near the bottom more often, however, if it bugs you enough, you could just try to "stack" what games you play by watching the "tanks in quene" list, and waiting for a low percentage of tier 9/10s.

I also find it uncommon to lose money in the Panther II and I do not use premium.

However, I feel like the aim time has increased recently, of that i'm not sure.

Play a french ARL44 or M4 1945 and you will LOVE your panther.
If at any time you feel your loosing your love for your German Tanks, play some French tanks to regain your appriciation for German Armor.

I had pretty good success in the Panther II. And I dont think it is slow at all. It's turning traverse and top speed are really nice. Compared to a Pershing it is quite quick imo. The long 88 is a solid gun for its tier as well.

I really like my panther II.  I sold it to get the E50 and I liked it so much I bought it again and sold the E50.  IMO the german T8 tanks rock. My win loss ratio for both the panther II and tiger II tanks are 54%. I only play pubs and thats it.  I bought the E50 again and sold the E100 but still prefer the panther II over everything I own.

I just got the Panther II a couple days ago and granted ive got all the engine and gun upgrades from the E-75 grind (side note:that line should be used before trying the Panthers) but damn i love this tank....Ive already saved 3 games in the final seconds (almost dead) with the speed and hard hitting dmg of the long 88 in the Panther II...It can snipe but up close that long 88 packs a good punch..I really like it...try it out..dont listen to the haters

I've re-bought my Panther II which I unlocked more than a while ago (first T8 med I had) I liked it when I first had it but the money loss from either my poor decision making or the actions of weak teams (sometimes both) finally caused me to sell it.

Many, many tanks later and I've sorted out my niche in a support role and the Panther II shines at that, nice accurate gun, good rate of fire. Excellent top speed and it's not bad going up hill. It is one of those tanks though that really needs it's team, sometimes I can jump in my KV-5 for instance and still shine even if the rest of the team are doing doughnuts on our spawn (other times it can't). Panther II though excels if the team are supporting each other and struggles if they aren't.

Shining example of that maxim would be my second game back in the saddle (as it were) last night. Serene Coast, started on the south side and I ran for the small finger which sticks out on the A line (about A4 if I remember). Gives a great LOS into the town and has fairly good cover unless the enemy arty is deployed forward. I was either spotting or getting shots on the enemy frontline but they couldn't shift me as a couple of our tanks had set up on the ridgeline further south, meaning anyone trying to rush round the corner was getting hammered in a cross fire.

I want to get the E50 unlocked as it's a med I've historically had trouble fighting. I just wish more people would get the message that this is a team game and not Call of Duty and some heavy drivers in particular seem averse to taking a few hits for the good of the team..........
