I'm very aware of sidescraping method. Problem being VK4502B has 100mm flat side armor. Even at 85+ degrees vs. an incoming round, it lacks armor to stop any tier 9 gun.

Nobody ever said you had to do that. You could reverse or slope your side armor on a corner, one of the advantages of the "rear mounted turret fail design".

With the use of that show only side armor technique, the rear mounted configuration is actually BETTER. Course you'll have to find a spot immune from arty, but finding those spots and other forms of positioning tactics are a valuable experience.
Now if YOU'RE the one advancing in a peek-a-boo without a huge HP disparity, you're playing your German tank wrong.
Get shots in at range, lower their HP, then advance and engage in mid-range. German heavies are snipers, yes, but you have to balance a few shots of sniping vs all shots while camping. Because nothing is worse than a camping heavy.

Or just get in the E-75 and roflstomp everyone. I've driven a number of different tier 9 heavies and the E-75 is so much better than the others its embarrassing.

This is an MMO, its cyclic. Each line goes through a period of strength and weakness. Germans had their moment of superiority.
Unfortunately, unlike many games I don't see the current German tanks as having their day in the sun return. Instead of the buff/nerf cycle repeating itself it seems that WG has instead moved to the "leave that old crap behind" model. Instead of re-evaluating the older lines they are adding new hotness and expecting you to move on.
They make a lot more money if you set aside your old tanks and chase the new deal.
