as the title says - what is the little symbol that occasionally pops up next to crew members mean? (next to my radio operator)

Accelerated crew training. The crew member with the least amount of experience will receive it.

Both posters have it partially right.

Yes, the symbol is from ACT. No, it doesn't mean that that crewmember gets the ACT bonus. All crewmembers get the ACT bonus. That crewmember gets an additional bonus.

<Edit> This is wrong, I tested it.

And this happens so all crew members improve their skills together, therefore minimising the effect of partial crew death during a battle (which reduces the amount of xp the dead guys receive).

I am pretty sure that nope.
All crew members gets same amount of experience as tank did. [ X ]
Worse crew member will also get all the experience that tank earns, thus doubling his exp income. [ X*2 ]
Dead crew members gets their share reduced to 50%. Thus ATC allows for most often dying ( and not getting revived ) crew member ( so radio man ) gets same share as other tankers. [ X*2*0.5 = X*1 ]
Additionally in meantime bonus from Mentor is included, tho as it is just multiplication order of operations means nothing.

( you can note exact crew members experience before and after battle to see this in effect )

Ok, now I wanna make sure who's right, and test it.

Before test:

Posted Image

1611 XP needed for my driver to advance. Note that he does not have the symbol on him, this is to test if ACT also affects the guys without the symbol.

After test (I had a terrible round, got killed very early after doing minimal damage):

Posted Image

I got 102 XP for the battle. My driver went from 1611 XP needed to 1509 XP needed. That is a difference of 102 XP, with ACT on.

Huh, waddya know. You are right and I was wrong.

I think you may actually be wrong here Lert :Smile_ohmy:

As far as I'm aware, the crew member with that gets double the XP earned in battle, where as the others only get equal to what is earned. This double being the extra from ACT. I think it used to get evenly distributed between all crew, but now it ALL goes to the least trained crew, in order to try catch them up

:Smile_honoring:

EDIT: Oh you posted your revelation post less than a minute before I posted this. :facepalmic:

I just did the math once in the past to check if it is worthy to train crew on doubles in premiums of other class ( basicaly it is not ), information both in game and in wiki are rather missleading about ATC.

edit:

Fishblock? o_O

Lert, why do you have a Panzer I in your garage? Pretty sure that was meant to be released much later. Did you accidentally leak it?
