Hello once again. Today Ill be doing a tutorial on spotting. Spotting is different from scouting. Scouting is you driving around detecting people while spotting is you sitting still and spotting your enemies without them even knowing your there.

so basically you want to be patient. You want to find a bush that you can hide behind. this bush should not be 1. Super close to your enemies or 2. Too far from your enemies. This bush should be somewhere where you know your enemies will come through. This way you will spot them but they cant spot you because your behind a bush and you hopefully have a camo net equiped (ill go into equipment later). I prefer spotting in higher tier matches because you can still get your spotting bonuses and not get shot which could result in a one shot.

The equiptment that I use is the camo net and binocs.
The camo net will grant you a camo bonus. This combined with a bush will make you nearly undetectable from a distance.
The binocs is to detect enemies from farther away.

1 last tip is to never shoot or move from your position. Shooting will result in them spotting you and moving will result in your camo net bonus gone. If your enemy does spot you them book it. I usually go offensive in my T-50 if its a tier 5 or 6 game when I get spotted because I can dish out some damage to the enemy.

I hope this tutorial help somwhat :) This is my first tutorial so please dont hate.

You forgot to say that by spotting enemy, whenever they get shot by your friendlys, you get 50% XP that you friendly made by shooting him ( you dont rob him the XP, he gets the full XP, but you make 50% of his XP )

Don't forget the longer you spot an enemy the better accuracy your team gets at the targets you have spotted, specially arty :Smile-playing:

Question re: the XP award to spotters.

Is the XP award per shot that causes damage or is it per spotted tank killed?

its more like per shot. Everytime a teammate shoots an enemy and does damage, you get half the xp and credits that he would get. Keep in mind you dont steal the xp and credits from him.

Here is a small example.

you spotted a maus. Your friendly IS-7 shoots the maus for 400 damage. Lets say he gains 200xp and 4000 credits. you would get 100 xp and 2000 credits while your teammate still gets 200xp and 4000 credits.

Thanks for the explanation.

I knew it wasn't "stolen" from the person that did the shot but I thought it was only for kills.

Makes sense now on how XP as a scout can fluctuate so much!
