Inside The Hatch: M26

We're going to try something a bit different here. There are plenty of videos which give basic overviews of a tank, or its operational history, but not very many which discuss how any particular tank actually worked. What did it look like inside the hatch? Maybe there's a reason for that (The project teaser seems to have not made waves), but that's not stopping us from trying this out!
So, we introduce "Inside The Chieftain's Hatch", where, armed with the user's manual, I go inside various tanks and see what's what. As a general rule, any tank will take two videos to cover, expect one video a week. The first tank to be subjected to this investigation is M26. Enjoy.

Very nice!
I have been waiting for something like this for a while now, even in documentaries they always seem to just repeat the stuff you can always read in most history books. I prefer seeing more of the up-close details with some user knowledge.
Thanks again Chieftain!
Keep 'em coming

Love it! I've watched a few of your other videos and like to read your great posts, but THIS was something else entirely! It's incredible to see a tank up close and get a much more "hands-on" type tour. Watching things being opened up, different parts or machinery being pointed out, stuff like that, it's GREAT! And of course, narrated by the Chieftain, so it comes with some nice authenticity.
This could seriously be a show on the History Channel, Discovery Channel, SOME sort of channel. Really loved it and learned quite a bit, thanks Chief

This is why I love Wargaming.net: most companies might simply say, "Hey, it would be cool if we had something like this in our game!" (I cite every mainstream video game to ever attempt to include the Antonov An-225 as a plot element as examples) And then try their best to make it, guessing at anything they don't know. With Wargaming, they KNOW it. They are specialized enough to include details right down to how the various suspensions work and where you can find everything in each tank's engine component, to the point where the makers of the game know more information about the vehicles they have in the game than they can manage to put in the game!

This is great! You guys seem to have access to a lot of tanks!
Here are my criticisms:
- Intro is a bit drawn out for a web series, but would be spot-on for a longer 20-30 minute segment
- That rockin' guitar riff is nice, but it's a bit annoying jamming throughout the whole piece
- I'd like more detail about the actual purpose of the components. For example, what would the lifting eyes be used for? What does the horn sound like? (Furthermore, there's a horn on a tank!? Most people don't know anything about real tanks, including myself) When would an infantry man use the telephone?
- Your microphone is clipping, and it REALLY hurts the quality of the audio.

Great video. This is what keeps the attention going. I love watching this stuff before going in game. Would be cool to hear it.
They use the telephone to call AAA
The music in the background bugged me a bit as well.

I somehow entirely missed the project teaser, but I'm very pleased with this first installment.
In future installments, I would suggest bringing in another live person, so you're not just talking to the camera. I've seen other video segments of you in conversation with other people, and you are very animated and engaging under those circumstances. Here, it seems a little flat.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate the content a solid 9. On the same scale, the presentation is about a 7.
Even if nothing changes, however, I am hooked. Please make many, many more

Actually, I did just that with one tank, I dragged along an actual crewman to help. By and large, though, most will be to camera. I suspect that I will get better (or more specifically, more comfortable) with practice.

Microphone issue already noted. Unfortunately, sound was our achilles heel for our first sequence of films, should be improved later.

Sortof.
It ran to where it's parked, but I don't believe the engine has turned over in about five years, so I can't just hit 'start' and not expect something horribly expensive to happen. Believe me, some actual live operation is certainly on my radar, but won't happen for a while.
