What about a "design your own tank" contest BUT the winner gets to have his tank as an actual tank in his garage (and you are not allowed to make the tank super over-powered)

Hey there!

You're more than welcome to enter that contest but they will only be able to credit your EU account if you win. What is your language set to on Facebook, if you don't mind me asking? We try to target our NA contests to those who have their settings on English (US). If you have it set to something else you may be viewing things posted by other regions.

Great idea, but you may want to suggest that in our in-game contests and events forum.

could we possibly have the same contest but for NA region?

and its not really an in-game contest - the design and theory will all take place out of the game

This is my first time posting.... I know the WOT teams get sooo many ideas... but here is another one.... its simple and unique. All members all over the world can participate.

This contest will involve the "tankers" taking photos with their favorite tank whether it is a real tank or a toy tank.  To show an example... I have posted here a photo of my two kids, 5 and 9 on a German WESPE located at Ft. Sill, OKlahoma USA, it is in the US Army Artillery Museums Collection.  This particular WESPE was knocked out of action by its crew to prevent it being used by the enemy, near the muzzle you will see a bulge and a piece of barrel flowered out, the German crew set explsoives at the muzzle.  And I love the paint job!

First of all, welcome to the forums!

That's a great suggestion and an awesome photo! I'll be sure to keep it in mind for future contests.  :smiles:

amazing, great, and perfect idea... but i think in the last patch, they only have historic inscriptions, so i think that puts limits on what you will be able to make.

How about a "Victor Kilo" weekend with the usual range of specials and incentives, only involving German tanks with "VK" in their designation?

I was a little bummed out by the last special on medium tanks that the VK30.01D wasn't part of the deal.

There are lot's of "design your own tank" ideas, but has anyone ever considered designing your own crew member? I apologize if it's been done before, But if it hasn't it'd be a pretty interesting contest.

Basically, the aim would be to create a dossier describing the fictional crew member of a tank of your choosing. The dossier would need to fulfill a number of requirements that give background information on the character, but how the participant chooses to fill those requirements is up to them.

For example, the requirements could be something like each dossier must include: at least 1 image of the crew member, a detailed list of their past combat engagements, at least one listed family member (information can be provided instead provided that all family members are deceased, orphans will need to list the information of their primary caretaker(s)), detailed information concerning the tank the crew member operates in, an account of the crew member's upbringing, and lastly, the character can be from any time period, and may operate tanks from past or present periods, but not future periods. The reason the characters operate their tanks is left open for the creator to decide.

This sort of contest is pretty adaptable, and can be altered for a variety of events. Moreover, it's very mixed-media friendly, and since the contest is about creating a character rather than a single piece of work, allows for different types of people to compete with one another on level ground.

Well Halloween is just around the corner. Maybe you could get people to pull out their knives and take a picture of a world of tanks pumpkin they carved. It would be a cool competition. Then, when Christmas time rolls around, have a contest for best world of tanks coffee mug art. (not neessarily on the mug itself but art that could be implemented on a mug). As for thanksgiving I couldn't really think of a good seasonal idea. So, what about you ask people to send in map ideas that could be added to WoT. Have them make the design (not necessarily all rendered) of the map. Mainly just concept. I think it would be cool to have a player made map that would implement things the players want and not necessarily what the devs want. These are just a few of my ideas, and I may be back to ramble more. Keep up these competitions, they are really fun!

Really, with the release of the Japanese tree, you must do a "Design your own Japanese tank" contest!

Salute Laera!

SquirrelBeard reporting for Duty! :blinky:

How about incorporating a few successful existing ideas and game developments into one grand idea that WARGAMING could use around the website?  I'm thinking the end result would be an image file for use on the various forum pages.

The model contest went over well with lots of interest, so how about upping the ante a bit?  Perhaps a model diorama using game tanks on the tech tree, and the players favorite spot on an existing map.  Then pick a theme - one of the many events the NA server has run thus far this year?  Think "Turkey Shot Diorama". Points for Realism of the Tank, Map Location, and how well it illustrates the theme!

Maybe the winners get some Gold, along with their diorama photo(s) used on some of the forum pages. Seems to be some empty spots here or there. It would be nice to have  the users handy work on display

Thoughts?

All 30 tanks in the match must be the same tank. IE, 15 Easy 8's vs 15 Easy 8's.

I have seen the artistic talent in this game, and I would really like to see a prize offered for a hand drawn tank competition. possibly some gold or a rare tank, I think its a waste for all those talented out there to submit their work, after slaving over it for hours and hours ( I have literally spent 50+ hours just drawing) only to get a small picture of your work uploaded to the site. I dunno, but it makes me feel like I could have just been spending that time grinding my favorite tanks. I would just like WG to make artists feel like they are helping their tier grinds, and not to feel like drawing for WOT is a waste of time.
