Ok so with the insert of what will ultimately be a failed tier 5 premium German medium tank (people don't want to buy it from what I can see). The thought came to mind what would be nice is a tier 8 German premium medium. So after digging around I came up with a possible idea. Now i realize the PZ V/IV exists. Though it's kind of a watered down version. Basically stock panther with stock PZ IV turret. So here's this one...

Now obviously the 7.5cm L/48 is a little too weak to actually be put on a tier 8 so I have some....unusual proposals.

Pz. V Ausf. D Panther

Turret - Pz IV Ausf. H  (Armor 80/50/30, Traverse - 44 d/s, View Range - 350 meters, Weight - 3,500kg) - Turret armor will be spaced like the Super Pershing -
Hull - Pz V Ausf. D (Armor 85/40/40) - side skirts will make parts of the side armor spaced as well -
Tracks - PzKpfw-V-IV-Ketten (Load Limit - 45.5 tonnes, Traverse - 29 d/s, Weight - 12,050kg)
Engine - Maybach HL 210 P 30 (H.P. - 870, Fire Chance - 20%)
Gun - 7.5 cm kwk 41 L/57 (Penetration - 170/216/38, Damage - 140/140/185, RoF - 13.5r/m) - experimental gun designed by Krupp AG that saw limited service but not widely made due to tungsten shortages -
Radio - FuG 7 Ausf. F (Range - 710 meters)

Tier 8 premium with a 7.5cm is not gonna cut it unless it fires as fast as a curchill.

Unfortunately I can't see how this will be competitive, since it's just a tier 7 with a downgraded gun. Spaced armor on the sides of the turret and only parts of the sides won't save it. The Ersatz M10 will be 10x better at the same role.

even with double the RoF of the 100mm on the Type, 5mm less pen and 100 less damage?

Except that the ersatz M10 had the 7.5cm L/70 which has less pen than the 7.5 on that tank I'm proposing.

Ersatz M10 also has spaced armor on the front, too, drastically increasing survivability far more than the side skirts and side armor on this tank will, and it's a tier 7, so 150mm pen is good enough for its tier when coupled with good armor and decent mobility.

This tank will have a mediocre gun, mediocre armor (possibly terrible frontal turret armor) and decent mobility. It'll really have no strong points besides spaced armor on its 40mm paper-thin sides.

Uh, we're getting the Ersatz M-10, what more do you want? :Smile_amazed:

http://www.decarloje..._Ersatz_M10.jpg

Them ain't no GI's standing next to it.. that's a German tank (Panther) made to look like a US one (Wolverine).... Germany gets a "Trojan horse" tank as a premie... rejoice. (and stop referring to the error on the US tree that's been addressed already)

Ersatz M10 in German service, that's what I want. I think it's set to be an American tank for some strange reason.

Yes an overly armored tank with a crap gun. Yet another KV-5 in the making...

As opposed to your suggestion of an under-armored tank with a crap gun? Why would anyone choose it over the Panther II, which has better armor, better gun and probably better mobility? Yes, premiums should be worse than their counterparts in their tier, but this tank will literally have nothing going for it.

you serious, crap gun? Better than any other 7.5cm in the game minus the L/100.

How many tier 8 tanks use a 75mm? In its tier, yes, it's a crap gun, especially since it'll be on an underwhelming platform which, if it follows the Panther's mobility, will not be good for flanking.

actually 120 more hp than the top engine on the panther, 1 more traverse on the tracks than the top tracks on the panther. Same hp as the top engine on the Panther 2, only 20m les on front and sides armor wise on the hull, plus the advantage of spaced armor. Also better gen and the stock on the Panther 2. It's not as bad as you would like to think. Better than a stock panther 2. But not as good as a fully upgraded panther 2.

Bump it down to tier 7 and it'd be much easier to balance. Game needs some tier 7 premiums anyway. After all, since 7.5, tier 5s need a new ubiquitous premium to whale on them. =P

I think with the overall great performance it could play that it would serve better as a tier 8.

So it's a tier 7 tank except for the engine. One degree track traverse won't change it. Spaced armor on the sides won't make it any stronger. The frontal armor is still a T7 Panther's (and with the Panzer IV H's turret, its frontal turret armor is only 50mm unsloped). The gun is worse than its tier 7 counter part. I'm still not seeing what will make this tank work.
